  1. There are many MVs that have been disposed of by MOD that have no such struck off status on records. I know that for a fact as I have come across a number out here which have disposal circumstances beyond the UK norm but are legit. Go to any overseas country and you will find MOD kit on plinths and in museums as a result of gifting.
  2. A local scrap yard drains all the fuel from vehicles into jerry cans prior to dismantling and then puts the jerry cans in to a chest freezer. After a few days they bring the cans out and pour off the fuel and then upend the can over a catchment basin for the ice to melt. Pure genius.
  3. Stupid question, but does the liquid being pumped aid in the sealing and making of pressure? We have a hand fluid transfer pump for diesel that pumps like crazy and so easy until the fluid reaches a certain point inside then it becomes solid and lots of work to pump fuel, kind of looses its prime is al I can describe it as
  4. Dear Andy, thank you for posting, I am facing the same needs you have. Where did the connectors come from and what kind of cost, you say "issued" which implies no cost. I bought some of these and have to start to clean them and make them serviceable. What have you done about the tubes inside?
  5. Howdy Mike, long time no chat. There is a major amount of body parts locally and I could check if it is a whole vehicle minus the chassis Are you looking to have it crated and sent out to you?
  6. Over the years I have seen Ferrets with the tie down points broken. Usually the loop and been forced and broken from the plate that is welded to the hull. I had looked at the EMERS a while ago but can not recall seeing a repair procedure. Myself I have thoughts as to how I would effect the repair. Any comments anyone?
  7. Chris, that is funny, well spotted. Cant wait to see it at a show and read the "genuine" in the description. It only makes every other one more valuable.
  8. I agree, great as a mosquito control vehicle. Love them, as the man says, watch out for the first application of brakes after sitting, put you through the windshield. It is all normal
  9. Welcome Lennard, I wish my Dutch was as good as your english. Nice car and nice pictures and wonderful writing.
  10. I am no genius in life or electrically as many will tell you. We at work have had starting issues with ours and found the stand alone solenoid behind the piano boards had stuck in place. Once we had stripped that down and cleaned it and put it back together it started. That is my input for you mate
  11. And as such, if you ask me, quite desirable to own. because of what it is
  12. I don't take any offense to my original post, i get the posters point. All is good, glad you have direction, good luck
  13. Wasn't there a red AFS one for sale recently in Essex somewhere?
  14. The manuals are available in paper form as far as I know from Vintage Vehicle manuals who have an online store and are great to deal with. As far as scans of whole manuals for free there might be some on a place such as a Facebook group. I like scans but support the buying of the real thing so as to keep people in the business of manual reproductions and sales, I feel it is worthy beyond belief, I fear I may be old school and in a minority. As far as the vehicle itself goes there will be people who offer help and advice hopefully. Always wanted one and nearly bought one, classic British mechanical design and production to satisfy a need and a cool piece of kit. That is enough from me, glad to see it saved. Thank you for posting.
  15. Excellent narrative. Can you please put me in touch with Paul McNeill here in Canada please? Thank you
  16. Welcome along John J from Southern Ontario. Nice to see you here, the Nubian is the gold in my opinion Will be interested to see your progress.

  20. Well gosh golly thank you all so much. A bit of an old post but replies are always gratefully received. I'm surprised that I didn't get an automatic forum alert but hey ho. Now I will talk to Supacat to get some insight now I have a starting point. Thank you all
  21. Jim I have a large number of NOS clamps. Please email me and we can talk turkey, yes I know I am in Canada but I am a decent sport and might be willing to help you on price and postage.
  22. Jay my congratulations on having the intestinal fortitude to admit it was you, we are all human and we all screw up at times, I have had many occurrences caused by my own lack of judgement, ranging from a partial loss of hearing through some scars and broken bones through two failed marriages, so chin up mate, your survived! Thanks for sharing and making this forum what it is by adding the personal recollection.
  23. Do you mean the inner tracta joint seal?
  24. Alex, I am one of those with training kits, please tell me what you need me to measure. My kits are in the house and I can get to some of the boxes. Let me know how I can help and I will try to help if you feel my input can help.
