  1. Mike the battery disconnect switch, is that a Bedford lorry part and any more info on how you wired it in? Was it an official modification or your own (sensible) idea? Asking for myself not an imaginary friend
  2. Good day all, Seeking the collective wisdom here please. I had two crank handles side by side the other day and had a look at wondered if they are the same but of different production runs or do the subtle differences mean a different usage intent. I can see no difference save depth of the nut head, the two versus one bands at the other end. Despite the picture illusion, they are the same length in reality. If you have seen this post elsewhere on another platform I apologise, double and triple checking is my nature. What can anyone tell me please?
  3. You had my attention when the thread title was all about a "thingy" Had no idea what it was.....
  4. Absolutely fair Bob, thank you anyway, all is good.
  5. Possibly Bob, we are just checking. be a day or two for a result
  6. AndyM was there anything different for the BATUS vehicles as I understood they were a value engineered vehicle, any comments?
  7. Thanks Wally that was him I have connected with the other Robin and this thread is now closed
  8. I recall a gent from overseas who had one in the UK but I think sold it on. Does anyone else have one? I have some publicity material that I am trying to decide where it should go. The bin is front runner at this point. yours
  9. I seem to recall that all of the relevant documents from various eras are in the files section of the Facebook (i know, don't say what you want to say) military Lad Rover group.
  10. Wow an old thread for sure but Mr Shawn (did I get it right) if you are able to scan your Dad's photos there are a number of ex Canadian Ferret owners looking for pictures of their vehicles in service. This is exciting
  11. Dear All I am considering buying an above mentioned surplus 450 machine, are they supportable as I would expect from civy street? Any known major issues I should be aware of? Thanks in Advance
  12. Really great job and wonderful presentation. I am sure there can not be many of the 1 to 1 scale around. What kits did you use as the basis of the chassis and wheels?
  13. Just a comment, it is hard to get a sense of scale from the image with no common day object beside it to see a size. I tend to use a Sharpie marker or other such item. It might help others to help you. No offence meant
  14. Ah the heady days of the SLR and puttees...... I see your gas mask bag is close at hand, so a proper exercise then. The Combat caps were just, well, ever so, lacking in style.
  15. Is that you as a Corporal Bob? Artillery or Inf mortars?
  16. Wally, please have the young man email me at robin on howe at geemail dot com as I may have a few other items but not those spur wheels. If you say he is worth helping then I will fall in behind you to help a youngster in the hobby if I can.
  17. What exactly do you need? Sounds like you are making something to a scale perhaps?
  18. Well, that was likely my error in comprehension of what I read so aplogies are offered to you Adrian and Carl if any slight was taken. So from what it seems there is not one in private hands running anywhere, just a few museum ones
  19. From that site it appears as is Carl Brown and Adrian Barrell had a project vehicle, is that still anything they are working on one wonders? The Ex Littlefield one now at the Collings Foundation might have a chance of being a runner. I have a plan .....
  20. Seems that they are quite a rare machine with none running in private hands. We must be due for someone to dig one up under and orchard somewhere and restore it...... Thank you Richard Farrant
  21. Good day, this splendid wooden tank measuring 8 1/4" end to end has been acquired. I have no idea what it is of. Im not a WW2 aficionado so I am looking for some help please. Also, if we ID it, is there one in private hands anywhere?
  22. The one connected t "fitter Matt" is apparently available and not on your list, not sure of the specifics of the vehicle versus you list of details He has a youtube channel here
  23. Thank you Richard, yes, we have arrived at the conclusion that is what it is and are thankful for your input confirming it. Quite easy to reproduce as you say.
  24. Good day and Happy New Year to all I am trying to identify a Ferret interior part as per the attached. Can anyone show me a picture of the item in the flesh please? My friend and I are separated by many miles and we can not agree as to what he needs as the part book drawing is so vague. Thanks in advance
