  1. To carry it off it needs an interested front person and an interesting topic. He can get where ordinary people would not get invited. It is a watchable mix of the serious and funny bits. Uncovering vehicles and people in a rich mix. Telling a story and giving insight to hidden gems. Addictive
  2. It may be usefull to some one, I have a digital one that was supposed to be 12 volt for my pick up but when it came it was 24volt. Everything has a use it just depends how long you can keep it. I can only open my she door, to get in I have to put stuff outside. I lost most of my stuff in a fire years ago, but the heap keeps growing.
  3. Some more bits from the dark box sale or trade or swap
  4. Sounds like an analog tacho with a round face, It uses a daily chart. There was also had a version, oblong box with a tray that you put the chart on.They have been superceded by digital ones with a drivers card. They are saleable but a small market I would think.
  5. If it is available it will sell, :nut:
  6. If you have done your best, that is all you can do. People at the vineyard seem to be Honerable and deserve thanks for their patience and commitment to the project. I would imagine that dealing with people with magnotrometers and excavators is out of their comfort zone. Keep talking to them and form your loop, keep everyone on the same page. Well done to everyone on the project. Maybe if you suggest laying down a few bottles of Covanter Recovery as a momento for people who cannot be there it would give them another reason to keep with the team.
  7. Must feel great when a plan works. Good luck with the recovery.
  8. At least you still have a sense of humour.
  9. Welcome, Practical experiance, a passion and a sence of humour. A great combination. What can possibly go wrong?
  10. There is a lot of information and people with really old engines on SMOKSTAK engine forum
  11. If you have to reuse nylocks, lightly clip the soft nut top down with a punch.
  12. Very heavy on petrol and exhaust valves in my experience. Civy Options if I remember correctly Bedford 330/330 and the best Leyland 350 especially with a Leyland box. I skated over the Perkins R6 not one of my favourate engines, good on fuel because it was dinner time before you got them started if it was not midsummer. Take off manifold induction pipe find piece of wire and wrap a piece of rag at one end dip in diesel light then hold over induction and turn key with luck it would fire. No one ever had Ki gas.
  13. On modern trucks air pressure holds the parking brake off, the service brakes are increasingly fly by wire signals to operating valves. Older models are full air actuation from the foot operated valve to a proportioning valve to differentiate between front and rear axles with load sensing. A piece of dowl wood is handy for hearing internal leaks without dismantling pipework. A none return valve between compressor and main air tank is oftain a scorce of trouble. I would start at the foot valve that is a problematic piece.
  14. Hello and welcome, any chance of pictures?

  16. I have a vague recolection of the same thing happening.
  17. I forget his name, but I think parts from the Mossie that they burnt making the film went Yorkshire Air Museum and were made into the Aircraft they have there. I think it is named after the mans wife who mostly rebuilt it. Tony Agar I think. I know I could look it up but I am trying to keep the shrinking grey cells alive.
  18. I wonder if the H@S film was in colour. Or early video.
  19. All of a sudden the Sun is shinning again. In downtown Landy world.
  20. It would be interesting just to know that they exist:nut:
  21. You did not have a smoke problem until you changed the turbo
  22. I know it is difficult but do not get dispirited you have your family to back you and a lot of moral support out here. Leave it for a bit and it will not seem as bad. Good luck.
  23. Words from the voice of reason, practicality and really useful club
  24. If my brother was driving, I used to reach down and push and twist the gear lever retainer and lift out the gear lever. Then casually offer him the gear lever and ask if he had any use for it. Got him every time, minor nuclear explosion. I thought better of it if father was driving.
  25. Hello. How much do you think your friend would want for the tank? Regards John.
