  1. Hello Tedly. Sorry I have not replied sooner, I have not had a working computer for a few weeks. I have had a look in the dark box and have a new rocker cover for a C8. I am having withdrawal symptoms as I have not been near any good sounding engines lately. Hope you are well Regards John.
  2. When you drill a hole while working on aircraft, you then put a reamer through the hole to smooth it through the material to inhibit cracking. Hence parallel reamers. That is my understanding anyway.

  5. Going from memory firing order for 6 cylinder engine either 153624 or 142635 some manufactures ie RR and Jaguar start no1 Flywheel end, others no1 crankshaft drive damper- pulley end. Daimler diesels had timing gears at the Flywheel end of the crankshaft.
  6. Very similar the ones I used, they were like a large dynamo clamp. If yours are a cast ring they will be an easy tack otherwise you will need an mixed metal rod. A quick fix.
  7. When I used to put metal rings around the brake drums, Years ago. It was to stop brake squeal, Interrupt the surface vibration of the drum. They were usually secured with a crimp bolt.

  19. There used to be a Russian tank outside of the grain plant at Belford. It came off the low loader when they were delivering it. There is a Bedford RL recovery truck in a scrapyard at Wooler. It is not there now.
  20. Sorry I do not know. I am going from memory I think they were diesel 330s. I think the concept was use one when running empty and both when loaded.
