  1. If anyone takes it on, drop me a line, I might be tempted to part with one of my manuals "Handbook for the Ordnance QF 2pdr Marks IX and X on Mounting 2pdr and 303in mg no 1 in Tanks, Cruiser" Land Service 1939. Tim
  2. Lance Take a look at this thread... http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16525-M10-restoration Tim
  3. Welcome - Where in Cornwall are you - do you belong to the MVT - nice crowd with some interesting bits. Can you narrow your interest down a bit - WW2, Modern, British...etc... or just anything? Tim
  4. Have also driven it - agreed not enough power, but better to have it running with something IMO, than going off to the scrap man... though I have no doubt this one wouldnt have done, knowing whose it was. Tim
  5. Devon is a large county... would help if you said where... and also when (time approx). Tim
  6. Oh dear... place is going to the dogs now! See you at the Buckfastleigh Xmas do? Cheers Tim
  7. Thought that was an original British mini sub?
  8. I bought one too - but so long as it turns up one day in good condition, am not much worried about it being this year, or next. Tim
  9. White M3A1 Scout Car - Royal Netherlands Medical Corps - 1946 (ish): Tim
  10. Surely it can fly on 3 engines... not carrying a full bomb load... is it? Tim
  11. Find a household removal company and see if they can ship in a consolidated container (ie where you share the container with others) - may take 3 or 4 months... I have used this approach to ship from the UK to Australia several times and find it a cheap and reliable service. Failing that maybe a website like "despatchbay" is worth a look. Tim
  12. Popped over for the Saturday/Sunday with my White Scout Car. Great show - lovely location with great WW2 D-Day History - 5 min walk to the nearest pub... shame about the weather. Tim
  13. Ask them where their car is... tell them you're going to go jump on their roof and you hope they wont mind. Put in that context I've found that with many people the penny drops and they apologise. If that doesnt work, get in the vehicle and drive off... they fall off quickly enough.
  14. Think a flight IN it sold for around £46000. Tim
  15. Seen a lot of comments along the lines of "a lot less vehicles than previous years"... Consider 2014 is the 70th anniversary of the following: Operation Overlord Operation Dragoon Operation Market-Garden Maybe like me, you want to go to the 70th Anniversary of one or all of the above - and some others... but you have limited holiday allowance... That said I did get some kit to W&P, though it was left in care of friends because I didnt have time to be there for the whole show... as am keeping my holiday allowance for WW2 anniversaries. Would be useful to have another exit gate... would also be useful to prevent 432 owners from joy riding around the support vehicle car park... dont know who it was or why, but it was muddy enough to start with! Tim
  16. Nice - no guide price... but suspect it wont be cheap in that part of the world!
  17. Steve is normally at W&P - check the stall holder list on the W&P revival website.
  18. XXX Corps - Project 70 - Transport share - OR anyone else going to Holland for the Operation Market Garden Anniversary. I'm looking to get my White Scout Car from Plymouth to Harwich and back again for the Project 70 XXX Corps event in September 2014. I know Mike wants to get his vehicle from Worcester to Harwich and back for the same event. It would be cheaper for both of us to share a low-loader than have one each... but it would be better for us to share with other vehicle owners coming from the areas we live in... and bearing in mind there are supposed to be 200 vehicles taking part in the Project 70 event, and no doubt loads more going for other events related to Operation Market Garden, there must be other vehicle owners with the same challenge. So... this poll... 1) If you have a vehicle and you are interested in a low-loader share, please select the geographical area you live in (doesnt have to be the UK - there may be other vehicle owners looking to move vehicles across Europe) 2) Use the poll to contact other people in the area. 3) If you're not looking for a transport share, please dont respond to the poll. Cheers Tim
  19. Other possibility is to open this to a poll - if there is enough interest to see who else is looking to share loads from where. Loosely a starting point would geographical areas - ie South West, South Wales, South, South East, London, Midlands, East Anglia, North East, North West, North Wales, Scotland... Then people in the same rough geographical areas can discuss options. Depends what demand there is. Tim
  20. I have one - camo print on the outside - black on the inside - is British Army dated 1944 on the inside in white ink. Assumed they were WW2 Jungle issue. Paid £5 for it about 10 years ago - was in original bag, have a set of black metal poles which I assume are post ww2 - there is no ridge pole. Tim
  21. Am also taking part - and have got a low-loader pencilled in from Plymouth to Harwich (need to firm up the dates)... and looking for someone with a vehicle at most 20ft long to share the transportation costs. Your vehicle sounds ideal - the only catch being that Worcester isnt enroute between Plymouth and Harwich and would either need a diversion - or you to drive between yours and Bristol? Will PM you for a chat. Tim
  22. One of my neighbours - now in his 90s worked on the design of the Bailey Bridge - interesting chap to talk to. Tim
