  1. Are you going to be hiking out onto the moor away from the road?
  2. Nice - Could go with some of those for my White Scout Car! If you're selling, please let me know Cheers Tim
  3. I am looking for the following - hoping someone here has one in any condition (ideally mint unissued of course) which they would be happy to sell to me - this is probably best described as Battery Selector Unit with inbuilt test meter... this is the item to the right of the Variometer (centre of colour pic). From a discussion with Adrian B (thanks Adrian), I understand that the purpose of this switch is to allow the Wireless Operator to choose the 12v battery from which to run the Wireless set... the meter allows them to test the battery to see which is best... avoids draining one battery down too far. The attached pics show the unit fitted inside Bovington's Sherman Firefly - Photos copyright to Bovington Tank Museum. This differs slightly in design according to tank and manufacturer - so am happy to consider anything similar if not exactly the same. Many thanks Tim
  4. Probably not... But time to restore all of them? Tim
  5. Sale prices listed here... https://artcurial.infinitebidding.com/?method=getCatalogLots&catalogref=KJCJLD9OTO
  6. I have the lamp and cable in nos condition without the metal bit for sale.
  7. More total rubbish from the Suffolk Gazette... but makes better reading than the Daily Fail.
  8. 25pdr - Mk2/1 - Barrel # - L/28858, Carriage # - 9171 Anyone know the whereabouts of this 25pdr... I picked up the AB204 (Gun Log Book) for it at the weekend... would be happy to let the book go to the current owner for what I paid for it if they are interested in it. Cheers Tim
  9. Am looking for the following items please if anyone has them for sale: 5 x Stave, Intermediate, No 2, 17 pdr. Mk1 1 x Stave, End, No 72, Mk1 Sorry - I don't have photos of these... though if anyone does have photos and can post, so I know what I am looking for, even if you're not selling, then that would be appreciated. Many thanks Tim
  10. Rick That would be excellent thanks. Cheers Tim
  11. I've used Nick Sampson - as you say, Barnstaple firm - found them to be good and reliable - happy to recommend them from experience. Tim
  12. That's a risk with many vehicles, old... and new!
  13. Anyone at the show now and happy to post some photos to show the rest of us what we are missing? Tim
  14. I thought Plasterdown was the location of a Field Hospital just outside Tavistock. Is it more likely to have been Okehampton camp, or somewhere on the North Dartmoor ranges? Tim
  15. Kev I should be at the Buckfastleigh event - all things being well, I will have a White Scout Car with me. I don't display the charging sets - they are just accessories for my vehicles. See you there Tim
  16. Kev Welcome. I don't collect Charging sets... but do have 1 x 80w, 1 x 300w and 1 x Alco Sirius sets (SOE type). Perhaps see you at one of the Devon Military Vehicle Trust meetings - you don't need to have a vehicle and will meet a load of like minded enthusiasts. Cheers Tim
  17. Have a 30cal deact... cycle works fine - had considered stripping it out of curiosity more than anything else... will give it a miss for the time being until sure I've found my safety goggles and someone who is experienced in putting it all back together. Useful thread - thanks. Cheers Tim
  18. I hoped to go, but getting married the weekend before resulted with a change in plans - the other half not keen to have this as a honeymoon... a pity, as I had been looking forward to it. Life unfortunately often gets in the way of what we would like to do - perhaps next time I will get there with the WSC... or perhaps something larger if it's finished. All reports are I missed an exceptional event and I can only hope that the organisation team are prepared to do it again soon. A huge level of support and coordination to achieve a great result... may be next time, a second camp for the British and Commonwealth units ;-) Congratulations to all those involved. Tim
  19. Except for all those dumped off the side of Aircraft carriers at the end of the war?
