if anybodys thinking about going to tankfest it'll be worth the trip just to see this vehicle.i've seen it during construction and it's a superb job and something totally unique.the interior is nothing to look at but the exterior is brilliant.it's based on two ford county tractors stuck together.the front gun fires blanks and the machine guns all move with the help of ford escort wiper motors.the driving position is right at the back with the engine just in front, slightly back from the centre of the vehicle.it will be driven with the help of cameras on the outside and somebody standing were the comander/driver position is in the real tank.

Is this a private venture or is it destined for an verseas customer? i wont be at Bovington this year, but look forward to seeing the photos.

Tim (too)

it's a private venture and i don't know whats going to happen to it long term.i think he built it for the challenge.i suppose if somebody makes him an offer he can't refuse it could go anywhere.

Didn't Bob Grundy make a replica of this, remember seeing it at his workshops when my BAV was over there, his was bassed on a tracked tractor, but could'nt say which one it was as a base vehicle. IS this a different one and what happed to the one he built?

If its a replica of a a7v, what does a original a7v look like. Have no idea what it is of where its from or who made them? Could you put up an image or send me one .

just stick a7v in google images and loads will come up.

The Germans made a non-running copy for their Panzer Museum some years ago.

The Panzer museum at Munster have a perfect replica, with an exact copy of the original engine. W &T did an article on it a long time ago. Is it that one you are referring to or is there another replica that you know of?

I,m getting confused, how many replicas of this thing are there? how many in GB and is the one being built based on a wheeled or tracked vehicle. Is the one the article is about the one Bob Grundy was building or is it another?

there's just the one by bob grundy thats being shown for the first time in public at tankfest at the weekend,it's based on the chassis of two ford county tracked tractors that have been joined together.the only other replica is a non runner thats in the panzer museum in germany.

As far as i understand, there is Bob Grundys replica in the Uk which we will no doubt see photos of shortly. An almost perfect replica in Germany (which i thought was a runner, but i might be wrong) and the original in Australia. So far!!! Anybosy know of any others?

Hi,

i belive that several years ago three were going to be built in Germany in exchange for other tank parts etc but only one was completed... theis must be the one in Panzer museum Germany.
