  1. Yes, very sobering. I've just realised there is a whole series of these pages, with many yet to come. Here is the link to the index page. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/ww2.html
  2. Follow this link for some excellent WW2 photographs. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/07/world-war-ii-conflict-spreads-around-the-globe/100107/
  3. Try power track for RL brake parts. I bought some seals for an RL some years back and was impressed by their service. http://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/
  4. Lying about a mile out on the sandy bay at Aberlady in East Lothian, and only visible at low tide, are the remains of two mini submarines. They are in fact X T craft, which were the training version of the X craft. X craft were used in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz. The X T craft were towed to Aberlady Bay in 1946 and use for target practice by the RAF. Afterwards they were left to rot. Corrosion and bomb damage have not been kind to the submarines, most of the outer casing has disappeared, and there are large holes in the pressure hull. The engines are still inside, they are Gardner engines of the type that were fitted to london buses.
  5. Best just to use acetone which is the main ingredient in nail polish remover.
  6. Thanks. Very interesting. It's great that you know so much of the old girl's history
  7. Cracking photo. Why has the registration number changed? Would it have been reregistered after the war?
  8. That looks absolutley excellent sitting outside for the first time. You must be well chuffed! Well done to all concerned, and good luck for the push to get the Dennis finished in time.
  9. Quite agree, I had one shear in two a few years ago. Luckily was in a field at the time, so no harm done. No more S***part for me.
  10. I didn't use the kit, I had some strong bilge cleaner in stock, so used that before the sealant.
  11. I used the Frost fuel tank sealer in my off roader tank about ten years ago. Despite much hard and abusive driving, it hasn't leaked again. http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8232&frostProductName=Fuel%20Tank%20Sealer%20%28US%20Quart,%20946ml%29%20%20&catID=25&frostCat=Tanks&frostSubCat=&subCatID=
