Higgins kpt.
run, run but slowly, not easy work.... Think short way to finnish work on body, and start work on doors and cab, I have a serious concern that it will be much worse job and a big problem Tom Higgins
austintilly
It really looks great, that rear body.
Higgins kpt.
hi Arjan, Thank you for your interest, I very much appreciate your opinion because you already renovated Austin Tilly. After four months of work, the body is ready. I have to repair the door, and the cabin doors are left in a very, very bad condition, rusted, badly repaired, cut (!), again poorly welded. It will be hard work. Tom
Ron
Tom. "Slowly, Slowly catchy monkey" as they say .......somewhere? I always find it best not to look for the end result.....just the part I am working on now. You are doing a grand job to save that almost scrap Tilly. Wolfy
Looking great Tom. I have all this work to do and if I restore both Tillys twice! The photos are very useful.
Tony B
4 numbers could be an early Donkey number. If it and still on the States of Gurnersey books, the price they make would go a long way towards the restoration. I see you have a least got the instruction books. Higgins kpt.
What's the big problem, Tom? Fitting the doors? trevor think cab rear pillars and late, doors in to the cab, because, wooden filling in the columns is destroyed, the plate is destroyed, the door is broken and I have a great concern that is hard to go close. Make fotos, I'll try to fix everything, add the missing parts, hopefully I can get everything put together, Tom
Ron
Well you've done OK so far Tom. I think I can see from you pictures that the rear part of the passenger door pillar is completely missing. Remember what I said before..." Softly Softly, catchy monkey". Ron
Higgins kpt.
pillar is out side, wood is out , must make new and missing down enf of pillars, think Imake by fotos, but I think it's a big deal to close the door, the door will fit into the cabin, make pillars and try...maybe all be good with little luck! Higgins kpt.
more pictures, pillars -problem, try repair...
GeePig
Ah, I can see the problem now. At least you have something to work on, and the existing structure of the body and the doors will help define the sizes and shapes of the timbers. trevor

one more step to trip to Normandy, think my Tilly was one time in Normandy , in june 1944, wants go again , with this Tilly to Normandy , on 70th anniversary D day! Alex van de Wetering
Tom, I don't know how many hours you had to spend on that pillar to get it right, but the result looks excellent! Well done. Alex
