perhaps starting with some internal braces to hold things together , before removing the body . Seems to be held together with more luck and wishes than metal !Knowing how dedicated you would have to be to have bought it I m sure its only a matter of time before this old soldier is once more fit for service . Please keep Us posted as it is restored.

Maybe because they were used by Navy troops?

My Austin Tilly had her maiden voyage this April. I have done two rallys in May.

that really is a lovley job. The Tilly is such an underated vehicle. Watch most British 1950's black and white films, there is a Tilly rattaling about somewhere, carrying ladders or builders tools. Most just got worked to death and dumped. Congratulations on saving an iconic vehicle.

That's a real project. I see the chassis is nearly ready. Or am I wrong?

If you need some information, just ask. In the Netherlands another Tilly is almost restored.

Hi Arjan,

yes chassis is now fixed (14 day job-welding, kiting, grinding, etc.)

now make rear axle, have two, hope one be good(?)

thank you for offer on help!

Have three steerings, two rear and three front axles, two rear bumper, three gearboxes, two engines(plus one block),etc. , but missing both rear seats or pipe frame for tarp, etc.

think maybe is for change.

Please let me more info about this Tilly in Holland?I see on pictures only Robs Tilly,

look for info and pictures to my contrac,t end of 1942, now I see on pictures many small differences between contracts,

For example this rear bumpers, have two , but are different.

Well done Tom. I'm following with interest. Hopefully you are finding useful parts from the car we retrieved from that strange woman?

Note my 'M' number is not far from yours!
