Question

OK..........

So now I've got your attention...:-D

You know those little plastic caps you very occasionally find on grease nipples or brake bleed nipples ?

(Usually only briefly when they are new as they seem to disappear pretty quickly)

Any suggestions where can I get them please ? Been playing with one of the shiny toys this weekend & I'd like to get hold of a few to keep the crap out of various bits .

Thanks chaps .

Davie .

Dave, try phoning an engineer supplier near you as they should be able to supply these very cheap, and without the bearings to go with them

I use TSF Roller bearings on a machine I build, and on these RHP bearings the plastic cal is on a moulded filament, that terminates in a ring, that goes under the nipple when you screw it in, The cap is held on a flying tether, so it can't get lost. Maybe someone near you can get this type.

I thought the correct name for a nipple was a "Scammell Wheelnut"!!

Any decent motorcycle shop will stock these mate. In the BMW dealership I used to work in we used to have carrie bags full from all the ABS units replaced under warrenty. (there are 6 bleed nipples on each motorcycle ABS unit!)
