woa2
What is this contrivance? The wheels retract, and it has what looks like an hydralic ram one end. It also has access doors in the sides but no windows. My guess is something to do with bridging? Edited November 28, 2009 by Marmite!! fv1609
The wheels retract, and it has what looks like an hydralic ram one end. It also has access doors in the sides but no windows. My guess is something to do with bridging? I think it is a ram Robert, can't really see it on the 3/4 view photo I've got of it. But there are certainly rams for raising & lowering wheels. But it is not to do with bridging.

MAJ G. Miskovsky
Looks like a aircraft mock-up used for pre-jump training (troop exits/actions in the aircraft) replicating the old flying boxcar.... we had C-130 replicas on wheels that retracted so as we went through pre-jump the platform would be stable.
