Desert Rat
Looks like nearly clear skies too, i wonder if RAF will send up a couple of typhoons for an intersept!? Clear skies ? I'm sat on airfield north of Scampton and can assure you the weather is fairly crap. cloud base of 2500-3000ft, broken in places, scattered showers and due to get worse later. However, there's still a chance it could break if the wind pushes it out. We've just stuck the covers back on the aircraft. I spy a bit of blue sky... Probably surprised a couple of gliders over the Cheviots.
monty2
Vera makes an amazing journey at an age of 70 years. One of only two still flying. Vera will be landing today in England after leaving Aussie some days ago.
utt61
I wonder if that's 1315 UTC(GMT) rather than BST? Just flown over Durham at 3700 feet and 168 kts, heading 140.

FlightRadar just had it at 6,000, then 36,000, then 10,400, then 29,400, then 3,000. That's some turbulence!
Dusty
The BBC have just reported that the planned fly-past of the two Lancasters over Lincoln Cathedral today has been postponed as due to bad weather the BBMF has been grounded. The Canadian Lancaster is still hoping to fly over the cathedral in company with the Red Arrows shortly. Dusty

Chopa
Amazing achievement! What a tribute to the people who built her 70 years ago, and the folks at Hamilton who have rebuilt her several times....and, of course to those flying her. Well done everyone concerned! Desert Rat
As it came into Lincolnshire the weather became diabolical. We remained grounded due to the weather as did the Reds and the BBMF and for the Lanc to press on to Coningsby with what weather lay ahead, was impressive. Well done to those involved. marvinthemartian
I went to Waddington to see the flypast over the cathedral and the split, in the end all I got was bloody soaked. Was a great shame the rain couldn't have held out for a few more hours, really dissappointed!!!!!
