agmerlin
This maybe a long shot, but what the hell, you guys have answered all I've asked so far!! It's not specifically to do with a military bike but does involve an inter war triumph. My grandfather who spent most of his adult life working for triumph is supposed to have an unofficial record for a motorbike long jump. Apparently this was done, in the 20's or 30's, off a hump back bridge at Fenny Compton Wharf out side The Wharf pub and along the old Banbury to Southam road. There was a photograph hanging in the pub for years that I would dearly love to get a copy of. Enquiries haven't turned up anything yet, so does anyone know about this type of event or where I might get more info? Andy
jaces
I drive past that pub regularly and know few lads who "live" there but never heard of that, wouldnt have thought roads got enough "hump" in it,as kids we used to go out to napton resevoir as the hump back bridge there gave serious lift, not a million miles away either

N.O.S.
Off topic a bit - My friend jumped his Mini over a canal bridge outside Derby. We thought we'd got away with it until we tried to get out later - both doors were stuck tight, due to the big crease cross the roof..........:wow:
