Or possibly some one who knows another MV owner that was looking for these parts....

I recall a tale a friend in the police told me a few years ago of a guy with a Jag who needed some parts but could not afford dealer prices. A bloke in the pub heard him and offered to get them for him. That night the guys Jag was stolen, police came out and on hearing the story paid a visit to the pub bloke who was, as the saying goes, "known to them". The car reappeared the following night....

Whether true on urban myth I know not - but sounds possibly like what could be happening here.....

hi,

well we have had some good news sort of.two witnesses did not see anyone here on sunday so only saturday was the day of the crime.it is beginning to look like a new mv owner.unfortunately you cant say who as without concrete evidence the police are not interested and even with it they are not interested.

the mv they bought is still lacking various parts so please be aware if you own a chevy or gmc with things like headlights, piggy back blackout light, rear lights,as this person could well be parked next to your vehicle some time soon.

a full sweep of the yard has shown that apart from the 3.7 bits everything else relates to this persons new vehicle.of course it is all alledged and just my own humble thoughts.of course the fact that the vehicle and owner were in the yard on saturday alone for a number of hours and were witnessed standing on two of the vehicles robbed can only arouse more interest.

we have ruled out all other possibilities and therefore only one remains.

please be aware this could happen to you.

One place Iworked we had a little *** based next door who was helping himself to stuff. I got an old Jerry can filled it with about half a gallon of disiel. To this was added , grinder dust, paint thinner, old gear and engine oil, sand and anything else that was swept up. I then fueled up a tractor outside the shed in view of said *** and drove off. 'Forgetting' to put away one jerry can. Later in the day yon *** was seen at the side of the road with the bonnet up on his brand new Mazda Disiel pick up. :cool2:

its a real bummer for sure..but I am sad to say finding the bits will be tough and the crooks well it wont even register on the richter scale of the police things to do...

But has the theft been reported to the Police, modern policing is partly done on intelligence based work, if you dont tell them, then they dont know, and they cant form a pattern and take out the offenders permanently. Unfortunately it involves a bit more than a few more visible foot patrols these days to catch the criminals.

Spread the word round the MV/Militaria word. Crime stoppers can be very useful. To be entered on the Police National Computer anything stolen must have unique distingushing marks. Hence though a chore keep details of all serial numbers contract numbers, anything that can pick kit out.

hi,

yes theft was reported.still no sign of a police officer for a statement but we did get abooklet about being a victim of crime.it made me laugh.not.unfortunately a crime number is about all you get.we even have a witness placing the new owner and his two friends all over the only two vehicles that were robbed.the parts are extremely hard to find so listening to his explanation of where he got his new bits from will be amusing and the parts will definately show up on the vehicle.

i just hope he has taken what he needs as he will take from others so beware chevvy gmc owners.there is no place in a club or group for persons that steal from other owners.we just hope he gets caught red handed.video would be lovely.

on a lighter note, does anyone know where i can get leaf springs re tempered

cheers

hi,

the vehicle he purchased was missing several bits and pieces but there are still bits he will need for the vehicle that he did not take from the yard.

please be aware,he removed the parts from our vehicles with tools over a very short time frame.things like headlights and tools will take seconds to remove if he has a chance.he had attempted to remove another carb and air filter from another gmc and the bolts holding the front grill on had been undone but luckily several were so solid and rounded off so it got left.

if any one is asked to blast pieces for a gmc type vehicle that dont match the colour of the vehicle itself i would be very interested in getting the parts back.

the police so far have given a crime number.thats it.we got told the bits would be very hard to prove where they came from and therefore it would be a waste of their resourses.so in answer to your comment no the police wont lift a finger.

i have never stated that the parts will come up for sale.they will only show up on the vehicle.i was hoping someone might know where the parts are sitting now so i could arrange the recovery of them.

i will quite happily discuss with you why i know who bought what vehicle and from where but that would have to be a private message and as the ever so helpful local bobbies said.unless we caught them with the tools and the goods and a full written confession and they videoed themselves and left dna on just about everything then they are not prepared to even turn up.gettin on for three weeks now and still no sign of the sweeny.next time your stuff is being stolen or you have burglars dont bother with 999 just grab a bat and whack em.
