  1. Went across to the above show for a couple of hours this afternoon. It takes place in West Park which is right in the heart of the City and with free entry you can't really complain. I counted 18 different military vehicles in attendance, with a few different ones which I hadn't seen before. The show is on again tomorrow for anyone that is in the area and fancies an afternoon out. First batch of pictures are of some of the bigger stuff that was in attendance.
  2. Well done that man! Yes it is Dorset, looks just a bit different from these attached pictures doesn't it though! If you look closely enough on the second picture, in the first post, you can just make out where the rows of stalls go as they have left a mark on the grass.
  3. It's in this country, that's all I'm saying for now! :-D
  4. Looking very different to how it does when it is at it's peak but can anyone guess the place of where these two pictures attached show? Now to some of you it may just look like ordinary fields but some people should know what this place is. So fire away if you know the answer!
  5. I think that those that served in N.I also had all their handles removed from the lockers in order to stop them being opened while in hostile area's.
  6. Nice pictures Mark. I have been to this event before and there has always been a good turnout of military vehicles. I wasn't able to make it this year due to something else, but looks like another good showing.
  7. Whilst in Dorset, Wool to be precise, I spotted this different kind of living accommodation. Looks like two old railway carriage's side by side. Certainly something different to live in!
  8. Cheers Pete, I should imagine it would have been quite cosy with four men inside it as the link states!
  9. While in the Tank Museum yesterday took this picture off an information board showing a Diamond T of Pickfords hauling a Tortoise tank.
  10. While in Dorset we visited Swanage. Over by the lifeboat station (where I had been manay times before but hadn't seen this) there was a pillbox but it was of different construction that I hadn't seen before with what looked a corrigated iron cast with concrete being molded around it to create the structure? Below is a picture of it. It is now pretty much full of stones right up to the openings.
  11. We had a short break in Dorset on Wednesday and Thursday and yesterday I managed to get to the Tank Museum. I hadn't been since the refurbishment and I must say I was impressed with the new layout. It's not until you get close up to some of these vehicles that you realise how big they actually are, especially some of the German armour! I took plenty of pictures and I few of these are below. Is that a Sherman hull, Sexton hull and BARV outside in their holding bay?
  12. Been home about an hour now after a very very hot weekend at Belvoir Castle. For once this show got the weather it deserves after a number of years with it either being wet, windy or both! We almost never made it though after battery trouble which meant we first couldn't start (after a bump start we were on our way) and then after thinking that the battery would charge following a good run we made it just over halfway to a petrol station but after filling up we again couldn’t start. Another bump start later and we were on our way, once on-site we were able to see that the battery was well and truly a dud! There was a good selection of military vehicles on display, as usual, and a couple of re-enactment groups (down by one on previous years). There were also a number of old military vehicles dotted around the rest of the site. Below are a few pictures from the show.
  13. We are all set and ready to go, will be departing in the next hour or so. See you all at the show!
  14. Yes I did miss the first pass, as you say it suddenly just appeared above me and I had no time to get it. Should have zoomed out a bit more with the camera when it came over again but ah well I was lucky that I even got this as just as I finished the battery gave up and that was the end of that!
  15. Sorry only just got around to uploading this video of the Hurricane flypast on the Saturday afternoon.
  16. Anyone going to this? I have been to them all apart from the 2004 event, when by all accounts it experienced the best weather it has ever done with some of the future shows being badly affected by the rain and cold. A good show, with plenty of different attractions. Let's hope for some kind weather!
  17. Nice pictures. Looks like a couple more different vehicles turned up on the Sunday.
  18. To finish, there were a really good number of Austin's in attendance as is shown by the pictures below.
