  1. Ok ok here are the first batch! It was the first time that I had been to this show and I must say that I was very impressed with what was on offer. There were over 200 vehicles on show (I have never seen so many jeeps together before!) whilst the museum was also open and along with the living history groups there was plenty to see and do. Nice to meet up with Bodge and Jessie The Jeep and one I shall look to attend again in the future. Right onto the pictures and I will start with some of the bigger stuff that was on show.
  2. Yes it was very busy and once you were in the confines of the buildings and where all the vehicles were then it wasn't too cold at all despite being on an airfield. Will do a full show report and pictures in a while as just re-charging the batteries on the camera as took a load of pictures. :-D
  3. Just got back from a great day out. Thought I would let you know private mw that I got in ok with my MVT card. If you just show it to the people on the gate by the caravan who are taking the money then they should let you in.
  4. Thank you very much for the quick reply. Looks like a few of us could be 'sheltering' in or under the Dakota tomorrow, looking at the weather forecast. :-(:-|
  5. I was wondering the same thing pmw. So if we show our MVT cards we will be allowed entry?
  6. Cheers np for the in-depth response.:
  7. On it's tax disc holder it did have David Crouch's name and logo so I persume it spent some time in their hands.
  8. Where was the Thornycroft Big Ben used np? as it had Redland Aggregates on the side was it a recovery vehicle for them? Nice looking Pioneer BTW
  9. Brought this picture at the weekend from the Rushden Cavalcade. Does anyone know if it's still around?
  10. Brought this picture at the weekend from Rushden Cavalcade.
  11. Have just got back from Route to Victory so haven't been able to upload anymore photo's today. Here are a few more, this time some of the smaller stuff that were on show on Sunday.
  12. We spoke to the guy that owned this last year at Stoke Goldington and if I remember correctly he said it was a Matador chassis, Militant cab and a Bedford body.
  13. I saw a sign for this museum some two years ago but never had chance to call in. On the way back from the Rushden Cavalcade I decided to take a look to see if it was still around. It was but unfortunately for me it had just closed as it was 4.30pm on a Sunday. I took a couple of pictures of the grounds though and will try and call in sometime when I'm around again. It is just off Junction 2 of the A14 but is really tucked away, but well signposted. Below are my pictures of the site.
  14. Oh dear can one of the mods change the title to Show Report and not Future Event :nut::tup::
  15. Went down to Rushden today for the first ever time. There was plenty on offer including a sizable number of military vehicles. Plenty of other things on offer as well and the ground wasn't too wet which I thought it may well have been after the rain overnight. Nice to meet both Andy F and Nick (younggun) at a show that I will look to attend in the future. Below are just a few of my pictures from the show, starting off with some of the bigger stuff.
  16. Thanks for these Mark, certainly looks a well attended event with plenty of different vehicles on offer.
  17. Thanks Mark, there was certainly a varied collection of vehicles on display.
  18. Nice pics thanks for sharing them. Any idea what the guy on the front of the Foden next to the Leyland Hippo was doing? Had he been hit by the vehicle on the way to the show like a fly on a windscreen :nut:
  19. Yes it was a very good one, it was helped by the lovely weather and also that it is a free event. The show certianly has a nice feeling to it and hopefully it will continue to flourish, although with the way it is going it could quite easily outgrow its current site.
  20. Thanks for clearing that one up arm carp :-DI did see that the 432 had its rubber tracks on for use on the road so I thought that it perhaps could have been driven to the show.
  21. Cheers Guys. Its often at these kinds of shows that you find something that you perhaps haven't seen before, thats why I try and fit as many in as I can each year. As regards the 432 I don't know if it's local or not to the area, I persume it couldn't have come too far with it only being a one day event - although saying that there were vehicles that had travelled a good distance. It was with the AEC Militant I think but that had an out of date tax disc while the 432 didn't have one at all so I persume that they must have had other transport to get to the show but didn't see anything sitting around.
  22. Also there were a couple of Fire Appliances with connections to the Military world.
  23. Sunday 18th April saw us attend the 2nd Chasewater Festival of Transport. There were around 400 different vehicles on show and thousands of people with the show being a free one, the sunshine helped as well There were a handful of vehicles on display with military backgrounds. Below are my pictures from the day.
