  1. In the articial I read over here it said that it was built of one piece of aluminum ? I can't see how that would be possible . Can someone explain what they mean . Here is the yahoo story http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110408/lf_nm_life/us_britain_warplane
  2. I had not thought of making a worst fitting helmet thread but You both have a good point , no reason why the two cant be done in one thread. Any one have any comments on WWII Soviet , Italian or Japanese Helmets What about Helmets used in the other branches of the military like the Navy or Airforce

Perhaps you could arrange to "LOAN" the items to the Museum rather than giving them outright.Which would allow you time to find out their value and make the choice you feel comfortable with .
  4. Speaking of that third photo........seems that that stone fence / stone wall is doing something odd , it would appear that its headed for the sky ? must be some slope and so close to the home !

Such a shame that some hanger space can not be found for longer periods , She /it does take a lot of space!! any indoor time can only help as you well know . Keep Up the good work it seems you have a number of helpers and more new supporters .
  10. A question to the helmet collectors , what country would you judge to have manufactured the best fitting ....as in most comfortable to wear helmet ? as in adjustablility ,weight . Would you judge that seperate from its protection value ? Could they be judged on overall proformance ,or would you judge them based on which war they were used in.

  19. Very few were released here intact , very soon they were being cut in half to prevent them being used as vehicles , but people were still buying them and welding them together , then the next step the government told the military to X cut the bodies and buyers still bought enough pieces and welded them together , the final outcome was they removed the drive line and crush the bodies with either a bulldozer or a M88 tank recovery vehicle . I dont know how people got them registered Legally to put them on the road. I have driven them and as long as you dont try anything stupid they are a nice vehicle . The result the engines and transmissions are cheap as chips or they were and most of the rest of the 151 was available as nos parts , but the bodies were very hard to find.
