Is the Dodge already registered in Holland? if it has the Dutch equivilent of a V5 registration document stating year of manufacture it will make things easier to register it with DVLA, Previous post re importing http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?47191-Importing-Vehicle-from-EU&highlight=importing+vehicle+eu
  3. There has been a previous Post on here about the Bordon sales, someone had found some of the old auction catalogues, the only information stated on the catalogue was the military vehicle registration number, no info where any vehicles had come from http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?21754-Military-Vehicle-Sale-Catalogues&highlight=bordon+1946

  5. That is indeed a rare Humber, so good to see another one exists, there were rumours of another Humber convertible thought to exist abroad somewhere. They were a coachbuilt body made only for military use, there are the Two famous ex-Field Marshall Montgomery Humber covertibles in existance that he used throughout WW2, one is on display in the Coventry Transport museum, the other one is at the Imperial War museum Duxford. The only other known Military Humber covertible in the UK belongs to the "History On Wheels Museum" at Eton Wick near Windsor, Berkshire, not far from London, contact Peter Oliver they would be very interested to hear of another Humber convertible, the museum opens once a month, next open day is sunday June 26th http://www.historyonwheels.co.uk/ There is another Humber convertible that appears at shows and parades but it is actually a re creation based on a converted miltary Humber saloon staff car

  8. It would appear "Combined Ops" is no longer an Imps event as they have handed over the entire running/organisation of the show to "Headcorn Special Events", the Headcorn airfield owners.
  9. It certainly is a WW2 Willys MB, a DVLA search shows JJJ 396 Willys Jeep was first registered in 1947, it has the British Army mod of Butler sidelights on the front wings, dismiss the modern larger headlamps grafted into ww2 grill, it has a WW2 engine, wrong carb, no glove box would indicate an early Slat grill body, last taxed 1981, a good restoration project
  10. Military World show was announced back in march, its a private organisation of MV enthusiasts running it, who are renting part of the Hop farm, and yes seems plenty are going to it, and its a free entry http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?52937-New-MV-event-at-Hop-Farm&p=463361#post463361

  16. There seems to be very little information about Allen Taylor Engineering & Manufacturing Co. Ltd, however have found they operated from a purpose built offices and showroom at Ford House 126-128 High Street Wandsworth, SW18 4JP, South London, the large 3 story building still exists, the offices are now flats and the showroom is a tyre fitting garage, you can see the building on google street view, they built agricultural conversions based mostly on Ford cars and Trucks and the Tructor What a great photo opportunity to take the WOT3 back to Wandsworth and photograph it outside the building where it was originally built.
  17. I read on the W&P Organisers Facebook page, that vintage Classic cars, Tractors, commercial vehicle owners are being offered a Free Entry Day pass to exhibit at the W&P show, shame they don't extend that offer to Military vehicle owners who may prefer to just come along for a day! And what do tractors, steam engines and speedway bikes which are also invited, have to do with a Military show?
  18. £18.95 for a pair of black/silver plates http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SET-OF-2-OBLONG-CLASSIC-BLACK-AND-SILVER-PRESSED-ALUMINIUM-NUMBER-PLATES-GIFT-/291553570278?hash=item43e1f26de6:g:eJIAAOSwHnFVyJeU
  19. You describe the engine as "Rebuilt", to what extent? was the timing chain removed/replaced, if so non starting could be due to incorrect camshaft valve timing when the timing chain was fitted? Or incorrect ignition timing/firing order of the plug leads
  20. That Morris Quad was one of a fleet owned by Dorset Count council, and kept out at stratigic places around the county for use as a snowplough, they were all sold back in the 1970's at a large sale at J. Hirst and Sons, of St. Marybourne

  24. No UK insurance Company will insure a foreign registered vehicle abroad for a UK resident, nor could you arrange local Insurance as your not a resident of the Country, what is the vehicle & which country is it in EU ? I assume you intend to drive the vehicle back to the UK?. It could be insured short term on the Chassis number, but that really is only for registering purposes in the UK. If the current owner/seller cannot drive/deliver it to the ferry then it may have to be transported there and either you meet it at the ferry terminal and drive it on to the ferry, or get it transported door to door. Otherwise if you want to drive it back you will need something like this, Temporary Export EU number plates with Insurance cover.... http://www.export-plate.com/
