  1. Looks like another bitsa, lot of Hotchkiss parts
  2. black oil is engine oil, it is the crankshaft rear seal leaking, a common problem, assume the oil level is correct and is not overfilled, put up with the leak if its not too bad as there is no quick fix, its take engine out and presuming its a ww2 engine remove the crankshaft, the later Hotchkiss/CJ engines have a conventional one piece seal, easier to change
  3. Common problem with any vehicle left unused, rubbish petrol today degrades after a while and leaves deposits in the carb, give the carb/jets etc a good clean out, did you drain all the old fuel out of the tank? also check any flexible fuel pipes, they can collapse internally, and of course check fuel filter
  4. As Ruxy says above, depends on type of distributor, it could be a distributor vent pipe?
  5. Btw, to view the Bonhams auction vehicles, which are outside the Goodwood site, you have to buy a catalogue for £30 which admits two people!
  6. Ex Marines, Instow, modified with Cummins diesel, no winch, modern dash, etc, think this DUKW and the ceremonial Landrover have been at Withams for a while?
  7. The Webber carb will be an aftermarket conversion replacing the original hideous Zenith
  8. Looks ok, but it appears to be another rebuilt bitsa with a ridiculous sale estimate, Ford scripted body on Willys chassis, wrong fuel tank etc ..tyres.. etc ...
  9. Yes correct, doh...typo error here it was Tyneham village not Kimmeridge, I was at both last week http://www.tynehamopc.org.uk/
  10. There were several areas of land including villages commandered during WW2 for training areas, Imber village on Salisbury Plain an Tyneham on the Dorset coast, the occupants were given short notice to vacate the villages and have never returned, the areas are still today operational Military training/firing ranges Imber village is opened occasionally to visitors, the Church being the only original intact building standing there, derilect Tyneham village is open regularly
  11. The Ex RAF Folkingham site is owned by http://www.nelsongreen.com/ A Previous report on the site from some 6 years ago, anything saveable has been sold years ago, all thats there now, nothing particularly rare, looks to be too far gone and been stripped of any good parts to be worth saving including the Antars http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?27773-Folkingham&p=289352#post289352

  20. A Replica Spitfire has been involved in a road crash when the trailer carrying it broke free and hit a tree on the A3 near Guildford, this is a static Replica plane built by Terry Barlow used a lot of original old parts and was heading to a show on the Isle of Wight.
