  1. That only applies to over 3500 kg pre-1960 used unladen. Stalwart is too 'modern' to claim any exemption.
  2. I'm afraid not...... The manufacturers issued a serail code but I've never found it anywhere other than the plate, though to be fair, there are a lot of places to look! The Army were only concerned with the T number.
  3. Scaffold poles are 1 1/2" NB, 48mm od so a bit small.
  4. Repro legs are usually made from 2" nom. bore or 60.3 CHS which are both 2 3/8" o.d, so it is likely your second set are that. I made some once and I remember that the original size was a little unusual but I can't remember for the life of me just what they were!
  5. It's a tank part as it's not part of the engine but of the fuel installation. It is the same as Comet and similar to Cent.
  6. Generally, US production was totally interchangeable whilst British was less so...... There are plenty of exceptions to both though!

  9. The grenade box is a standard US part and was fitted in various afv's, the bottom box has a British catch on it. What is the writing, I can't quite make it out?

  11. The point of the V112 is to shift responsibility for the test exempt status claim from DVLA to you!
  12. There is desert and there is desert..... some parts have so little loose sand that stuff lays uncovered for decades, other parts get covered overnight!

  14. As Degsy says, a 6046 twinset with modern improvements. The tank belongs to Roy Aalderson, Joop supplies the tracks.

  16. The E9 was a program to space out the suspension on normal VVSS tanks to allow the use of extended end connectors on both sides of the track. The E8 program was the later HVSS suspension and wider track. The improvement in flotation and hence mobility of the E8 led to attempts to retrofit earlier tanks, hence E9. E9 was just coming in to service at the end of the war and many tanks were rebuilt post war with it. It was a modification and could be fitted to any VVSS tank. 1000 kits were built to allow in theatre fitting. That is actually a gross simplification as there were various other systems trialled but it gives the general idea!

  18. The second was actually fully restored and swapped for the JS2 at Duxford. It can now be seen at Kubinka.
