  1. I believe that to be true, varnished wood seems to be a more recent trend.....
  2. There are three turretless M10s and a Churchill bridgelayer on range 5, the disused part and a host of more modern vehicles on the main range. All the old stuff is pretty poor and usually half under water.
  3. That's ok Alastair, your e less post looks just like many others on here!
  4. If you have his spare parts, I'll take his spare cash.........
  5. Not without it's header tank cap.........:cool2:
  6. He'll tell you last week......:-D
  7. And great work you're doing! I follow it on flypast forum.
  8. I bought a few bits off Dennis about 10 years ago, I've not seen or heard of him since. Nice guy though, always good to deal with.
  9. Is it over 3500kg gross? If so, and used unladen, it does not require a test. It also has to be pre 1960 but for an MW, that's not an issue! If you're unsure of it's gross weight, weigh it empty and add 750kg for its payload. I would be surprised if it weighs as much as 2750 kg unladen but there is only one way to be sure.
  10. That was Denis Schneiders collection, about 75 istr.
  11. You could have had one from me for a lot less! Sorry! I've done the same many times Ron, I'm sure we all have...... If only we had known. :red:
  12. No problem, do you want to collect or rely on the post? PM me.
  13. That red oxide Lucas lamp is a tail lamp. I have a few of those if anybody needs one.
  14. I think they just fitted a CMP front axle and transfer box to a standard K2 for the film.
  15. Wow, that's a scary picture at this time of the morning! Actually, I'm not sure I would ever be ready to view that....... Happy Birthday Richard!
  16. If it was Tommy, then he sold it to me! I struggled to get the missing parts, well finding them was no problem, buying them was another matter! In the end I bought a better one from Holland and sold it on. Having said that, I don't remember that towing fitting on the front bumper. When I towed it home behind my 969, I had to fit a front hook which I had aquired from Alan Chapman as it had no fittings at the front.
  17. A very nice R4, what started out as the Cat 30. That's the way to find them!
  18. I'm not sure D6 was used much during the war, D4, D7 and D8 being the main Cats used by the military together with Allis Chalmers and Internationals. The Mod 29 PCU is a Caterpillar winch which is post war as Cat did not make any attachments themselves at that time. The serial number would tell you all you needed to know. This is on a small plate, there should be one on the left hand side of the engine block and another on the back of the transmission housing. Wartime D6 is either a 4R- or 5R- prefix for wide and narrow gauge respectively. A picture would help too!
  19. Very nice Tony! The Duxford C-2 was not theirs, it belonged to L W Vass, IIRC.
  20. Hi Frank, this gives you all you need to know about M20s. The link is to the electrical section. http://www.wdbsa.nl/Lucas.htm
  21. I can't quite remember.......! Peter Brown did an article in Tracklink that covered some of that IIRC, I'll dig it out and have a shufti.
