  3. Is the 'Folding Boat Body' also know as a 'Pontoon Body' ? as there a scrap yard near me with what I am told is an Albion with a pontoon body.
  4. Nice work Guy, are you doing the fabrication / welding yourself ?
  5. Hi guys I've just watched the film 'The Eagle has Landed' what location did they use for the harbour shots ? it looks very Cornish like Mullion ? Shame about the QL and Tilly but I suppose they were worth nothing back in 76
  6. Hi Guy, Normandy 2014 ? at this rate it will be ready for Normandy 2012 mate. Well done so far.
  7. I managed to get a couple of photos before my camera battery went flat :argh:The lady was truly amazing for 100 years old. hopefully somebody will give a full report.
  8. Theres a complete unrestored example tucked away in the back of the Aircraft hanger at the Airfield that I fly from. Apart from the working one at North Weald Aerodrome how many exist and are they rare ?
  9. Hi Tony thanks for the info, the DVR3 regulator would work fine fitted into an origional case, worth thinking about. cheers Ian
  10. Hi Paul thanks for the offer of help, I know the Regulator is faulty as its over charging which is why I asked about the price on ebay, the dynamo must be ok by elimination as its charging but I do need some brushes. Ian
  11. Hi Guys I took the K5 out for a 40 run on Thursday & she boiled the battery through overcharging. Theres a N.O.S voltage regulator type CAV 75BT-19X on ebay for £70 is that a good price ? Cant find a CAV DBNB-137 Dynamo yet but I may not need one anyway, could do with a set of brushes though. I want her back on the road for 28th-29th as our club has a couple of runs on. Cheer Ian
  12. Hi Niels engine or chassis number ? mine is QLR45600 which I am told on good authority is early 1945. Looks like the poor old QLRs took a bashing after being sold off as Guy, Danny, mine & yours all started life as radio bodies and lost them.
  13. Hi Guy its on the back of the cab (same as yours I think ?) we had the engine running for about 2 hours last week to check for frost damage, oil pressure etc which is the first time its run for many years but forgot to check the charging system before stripping & removing the cab. Did you get my PM a few days ago ?
  14. All stripped and ready to work on the chassis & engine.
  15. OUCH !!! when you take the P&P into consideration, sellers market though.
  16. Hi Danny is that the same 2 way switch that is fitted to the rear cross member of trucks for the convoy light ? If so one sold on ebay a couple of weeks ago.
  17. Austin K5, I have been told by several people that there are only about 7 complete/ restored and no more than 20 in total ? I would love to know how many realy do exist and where they are ? Ian
  18. Well done Guy, plenty of work ahead mate just like mine.
  19. Stupid question but !!!!!!!!!! why do they have 1 spare wheel/tyre on a tracked vehicle ?
  20. The cab is in quite good condition externally but once removed from the chassis & stripped the extent of corrosion became quite obvious, there was very little floor left and everything that it joins to was gone. This was due to about 2cms of wet compacted straw/grass which leads me to think that it may of been used as a hay lorry in its civvy life ?
  21. Found this on the internet http://www.militarymodelling.com/news/article.asp?a=6476 looks like this model kit has been modelled on my K5 and I think one from up Scotland way belonging to Garry Morton ? If you scroll down to the bottom of the link your see what I mean.
