  1. For reference, I extracted the entire set of AESPs for the FV430 family by an FoI request. Andy

    Doctor Who

It wasn't actually the Tardis, but a base in the North Pole. Anything else would be a real spoiler ... Andy

    Doctor Who

Amazing how good the brain's pattern recognition is - that must have been on screen for what, half a second? Andy

    Doctor Who

I'd hate to be considered an MV anorak, but did anyone else catch the Clansman CBF (ANR) masquerading as a door control switch in the Doctor Who Christmas Special? Andy
  5. Is that the Trackfix Chieftain, out of interest? Andy
  6. As a demonstration of an alternative point of view, I'd agree with being historically accurate except where safety trumps accuracy. I'd personally rather have a later extinguisher that works than an older one that doesn't. I'm not saying that anyone is right or wrong, each to his own! Andy
  7. The xmod have some of the smaller parts such as the bezel clamps but yes, eBay is usually a good source of complete units. Andy
  8. A magazine or armoury of some kind? Andy
  9. How about a 2S7 Pion SPG? (only because I'd really like one myself ... ) Andy
  10. DEF-STAN 80-9/1 is what's wanted - thanks to Clive for letting me buy the tins lurking at the back of his workshop! Andy
  11. Agreed - here's what the paint looks like when just applied. It's very, very shiny. It will dull down with time as it oxidises and yes, if you touch it your fingers (and clothes!) come away with a slight sheen on them. Andy
  12. Two of the big (Oshkosh?) tank transporters heading Westbound on the M27 around 0900 this morning, empty. They were wearing civilian number plates - how does that work? Andy
  13. Faulty capacitor or coil, perhaps? Andy
  14. Indeed - you wouldn't want to get involved with this sort of thing .... :nut: Andy
  15. I have a friend who drives a 432 on 60 mile round trips but it's taking its toll on the tracks. The issue with driving these vehicles for long distances is that they cost a fortune in fuel (typically 3 or 4 mpg) and will eventually break, leaving you with a recovery problem and associated bill. If you want to do a lot of long distance mileage you might find it makes economic sense to buy a trailer, and that may well dictate the sort of AFV you can put on it. Andy
  16. What do you mean by "long distances"? I'd suggest that no AFV is suitable for really long distance driving, either tracked or wheeled. Andy
  17. Oh go on then - andym! Andy
  18. Makes you wonder about the business viability of this ... Andy
  19. Isn't there a pukka adjustment gauge as per the FV430s? Andy
  20. Bovvy or the REME museum at Arborfield would both be good places to look for the drawings. Andy
  21. Welcome aboard - you could do worse than have a chat with Heywood Tanks to see if they need a helping hand? Andy
  22. ... and unfortunately uses Flash so a lot of platforms won't play it. Not clever! Andy
