  1. You could fill the housing with hyd oil. It may seem daft but it works, we use it for electronic components and sliprings with signal lines and HV around 3kv as well as optical sliprings. It works fine and will keep out moisture and help the bearings. It will need seals of course but its a thought..
  2. The V5 shows the address of the keeper (owner) not necessarily the vehicle. It would not be unusual to have the vehicle at another address, I'm sure the police are well used to that. Just show a drivers licence or other form of ID. They should show the same address as the vehicle, it may be an offence not to have the keepers current address for the vehicle.
  3. You could start with a VR tour of a Churchill and build from there the same data would be usable for a hologram (maybe). The equipment required would then be usable elsewhere in the museum. VR is a good starting point but would not replace the experience of the real thing. Worth talking to the Tank Museum they have done similar with German WW2 displays ( Tiger experience) and they are on here ! They may also have something at the back of a shed somewhere... Iain
  4. Thanks Aaron Would be nice if you could locate a range wreck or at least a part of one that had been built by GRC&W. Maybe using a restorable hull as the basis as mentioned on the other thread. Just a rough hull would be a displayable item, with clever holographic projection it could be turned into something special and help raise funds for a build. Its a thought. Iain
  5. Hi Aaron I bit more about yourself and the group you are part of if that is the case would help a lot. More detail on what you hope to achieve, such as theatrical look alike to a fully running exact replica in all detail and of course the possible available budget. Also if you input your profile location. Best wishes Iain
  6. "IPS Temp Admin joined the community 3 hours ago" Who is this ? Joined around the time it all went pear shaped, perhaps trying to mend it. Or ?
  7. Seems you have to be a Facebook member and group member to view. Many of us are neither I'm afraid. Not good hearing of another theft !
  8. Ok, how about this, or this ? There are a few pics around but many are after service that may well have been altered. I am sure they were also customised when in service by users.. Iain
  9. One of these ? Found the pic on the interweb... Roy, If you have any pictures or reminisces please share, you never know where it may lead .. Iain
  10. Thanks Iain ! Phil, That should be enough to work it all out but what exactly do you have ? Are they sourced from the US or supplied with US armour used in Australia or New Zealand ? Iain
  11. Would this work for wiring US helmets to a Clansman headset cable ? Are US standard microphones and speakers the same as Clansman, or compatable?
  12. Do you have any pics we are always interested and where are you, I assume somewhere in the UK ? An introduction is always nice. The right guys (or gals) will be along to help I have no doubt. Good luck and keep us posted !
  13. It would be very easy to re-do what you have and make a more professional job of it. The pins can be soldered back on with shorter wire, a small amount of solder, some heat shrink tubing to tidy the ends and it could be pleasingly neat.
  14. The pins and sockets are push fit with the wire crimped onto them. They can be pulled out again if you can relieve the tang that springs into position to hold it. A thin strip of metal or plastic pushed in from the open end should do the trick. If you look closely at the pin and socket in the picture you may get the idea. If it all goes wrong at least you can get a new one... It looks as if it was fitted after manufacture as they would have been finished better than that, I would hope.
  15. Are these the same ? https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/c-50-connectors/c-117-multi-connectors/p-619-superseal-weatherproof-connectors
  16. Try calling the manufacturer or installer if its in the UK, they will have come across this before. The angles and lengths will be important for the smooth function and locking. Maybe best not to mess them up... Hopefully the manufacturer will have a simple answer maybe a kit or replacement part. You never know.
  17. Here you go, 150m euros worth ! https://www.liebherr.com/en/deu/latest-news/news-press-releases/detail/liebherr-delivers-the-first-armoured-mobile-and-recovery-cranes-to-the-german-army.html
  18. And the over 2million euros price tag... 😲
  19. In your defense was it not blinged up in the UK originally. With little effort this would be a nice Ferret, it all looks fairly superficial. The one that brings this back from the brink would be a hero and OK maybe a bit crazy. As always it's down to the price.
  20. I have a similar scanned copy but produced by 203rd Military Intelligence Battalion. "Technicians for victory". It runs to 145 pages.
  21. So, try this stuff (or similar) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pliogrip-universal-panel-bond-bonding-metal-wood-plastic-fibreglass-welding-glue/223125314904?hash=item33f34e1d58:g:CG0AAOxy5jxSamr~ Its used on vehicles and has the added benefit of sealing the joint preventing moisture wicking in and rusting out. Not that Range Rover tailgates rust...
  22. Anything like this or dodgy emails report them to ; report@phishing.gov.uk It's the government unit that chase these scumbags. It used to be City of London police but now a national agency. It's worth forwarding all these scams and any suspect emails they all get looked at and help build up intelligence and evidence. Too many vulnerable folk get taken in and lives ruined. Iain
  23. Just put "solar battery charger" into eBay and there are thousands. Maybe someone could give a recommendation as the choice is huge. My concern would be leaving a basic one on for too long and trickle charging the battery to death. I am sure there are smart versions that can be left on without problem. Iain
  24. Perched on the edge of the kerb ? Iain
