  1. This all started when you disturbed the distributor and its all getting very complicated. I would look to the distributor again and look for a simple problem like a insulator missing or in the wrong place. Maybe even the timing 180 out, something simple. Hopefully.
  2. How frustrating ! Have you checked the voltage at the coil during cranking, It may be a duff wire or connection causing a drop when under load. Iain
  3. Bloody shame, that would make a lovely run-around ! (As long as its not blinged up with all the bolt on extras..) Does it have a split, top and bottom tailgate ? Used to see these used by dumpies, no doubt in case a spark set off a thousand pounder. Iain
  4. And a tech in best blue ? Possibly with a GSM.
  5. That's good ! Cant be too cautious though.
  6. Right enough, not many unaffected panels. Pity...
  7. Oh dear, so it is (is that a KERR?) and so much more besides. In my defence its not wrapped around it "just so" in the usual way Still, more parts for other vehicles to sell on including at least two spotlights...
  8. Worth a thought though. It looks clean and straight, if in generaly good condition it could be a decent buy and you could recoup quite a bit when selling off the extras. At least it's not covered in chrome and it's missing the tow rope around the bumper and a canvas bucket hanging off the tow hook collecting road dirt.
  9. That's more like it ! https://ineosgrenadier.com/reveal/exterior-design?utm_source=Salesforce&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=btg4&userId=vIKJ1hTwrmS0NZsj8cFrauzvhBAO2BSTTtPJbHORx3o=&lastname=zULivi61CfZKhdlGiqMYRg==&country=United Kingdom&lang=blank&utm_source=&utm_medium=&utm_campaign=
  10. "After about 6 months, a senior officer arrived and could not understand why they had no military facilities and no evidence at all of the British army. No camp guard or guard room not even a radio, he wanted to put one man on a charge for something, but the solider did not have a service number, and there were no army forms or clerks, nothing." What a shame for the poor officer 🤣 Dammed commoners'..... Jokes apart, really interesting !
  11. Here you go, pages from the parts book that covers Mk1 and Mk2. Sadly its a 13 inch clutch..
  12. I'll dig out the parts book in the morning and scan the relevant pages. My EB will also need the clutch doing when I get around to it so its of interest to me as well. Iain
  13. Yes they each have a place but the assumption of many that everyone uses Facebook is a problem. I do not and never will, I am not alone. It happens when posts on here refer to more information and/or pictures that the poster has placed on Facebook, this is an abuse of this forum (in my opinion) and cuts off those that support this forum. Each to their own..
  14. I hate to say it as I am not on Facebook and don't agree with this forum being used as a portal to it. There is a private group on Facebook with all the info you need. I know as my EB was photographed and measured, including the crane hook adaptor and my set of manuals (user and parts for Mk1 and MK2) to be available for the group. Something I regret to some extent. I don't have a copy of the manual scans for you but if you join the group you will get all the help. As an alternative as would you believe it not everyone is on Facebook, you can get the manuals (copies) from Green Machine Surplus. Iain
  15. Would be interesting to see how you get on here, though I am not sure they would be compatible. I hope they are, but there are for example different types of mic such as electret. I used to have a better idea on this stuff working on US and European aircraft but its a distant memory now.. Good luck with it !
  16. Is the date it entered service close to the date of manufacture as 5 ish years in service seems very short. It may have had an interesting history ! The airforce did not release vehicles early without reason. I remember delivering the wreckage of a burned out Pembroke that had been used in a crash excersise to to the disposal site near Muchengladback. I was in an RL and the site was full of MK's that the Army were releasing. Some will have had an easy life with lots of care and few miles others will have been run into the ground as workhorses. The fact that it is still around looking good perhaps it was the former. I used to have a 1984 FFR and loved it, I won't say what happened to it though...
  17. If you are going to paint it with a yellow stripe as an airfield vehicle it would not have had Larkspur or Clansman radios. I've never seen an airfield vehicle fitted with either, there is no requirement. Only regiment or specialist field units would have those radios, field helicopter squadrons had Sigs personnel attached (244 sigs with 33Sqn). Pye (Olympic or Westminster) or Storno would be more likely.
  18. Just a thought but Land Rovers used on airfields would not be fitted with Clansman (A picture will pop up now but it will be rare), more likely Pye radios or Storno and the like. It would be good to hear where it lived during its service it makes ownership much more interesting. And if you can find it in period photos all the better. You never know..
  19. I was on 33sqn and 240 OCU at Odiham for quite a few years and I cannot remember any vehicle on a squadron at Odiham with yellow stripes. Those used by base units such as MT and ground equipment flight did have them but not the squadrons as they were used in the field. We Had at the time lightweight heli-start, 109 GS, 109 1t GS, 101 Radio and of course Bedfords. With some fitted for artic use alongside our BV's. I had loads of pics of them in various places from the artic to jungle and just about everywhere in between but they got destroyed at Leconfield by a winchweight...
  20. Not all were plain green with a yellow stripe. Many when used by field squadrons such as helicopters, Harriers, Regiment and TSW would use black/green camouflage. Non flying bases and large bases like Brize Norton and Lyneham would use shiny landys... Not all blue jobs wore blue ! 🚕
  21. I have a picture in my mind of a massive siren on a tower or building. I grew up near Lithgows shipyard in Port Glasgow and they used one for start and end of shifts. It could be heard for miles around. ebay are a fantastic marketplace but in trying to protect from folk dealing outside their system they can sometimes make life bloody difficult.
  22. Well done ! If possible it would be nice to see a picture of it. Why "evilbay" ? It did you OK....😕
  23. Thanks John 👍 I've updated my posts to try and look like I know what I'm on about..😷 I'm sure there is loads more to learn about this, its really interesting.
  24. Doing a bit more interweb research it is said that the Deltic was a post war development of the Napier Culverin, which in turn was a Jumo (204) built under licence. Intriguing !
