  1. Ive decided to mark up the M10 in 7th Armoured Division markings , and give it the name "GHENT" , My father was in the 7th Royal Tank Regement in national service as a gunner in Comets and that was the name of his Tank , he passed away when i was just 17 so i thought it would be rather fitting .

  5. You are all corect , we were filming on the plains with the REME , as the saying goes its not what you know but who you know !!!! . The REME did the transport to keep the cost down for the film , a awsome bit of kit the MAN and trailer , it was as much fun loading the Sexton on Saturday afternoon and turning the rig around at my farm as it was on the film set !!!!
  6. I think Mike Felps got close to the record at A and E last year in his Hellcat !!!

  8. Hi Anders , Another M10 to add to the list then !!, as Eddy said thanks for the you tube link , good to see your M10 being driven and enjoyed ,i see you are running on CDP track ( is your M10 ex Danish army ? ) Regards Adrian
  9. You will be paying 20-25K for a C1 radial these days !! , i think the GAA is cheap conpared to a radial .
  10. I took the opertunity to go up to Carls today for a visit as i was rained off from work , work is progressing very well and to a very high standard that im impressed with ,Carl is concetrating on the electrics and is having to make up all of the armoured conduet that the wiring runs through , the dash is also being wired up and installed , the battery kill switches have been installed along with the regulators , and Peter is working on the fuel system and mounting the filter heads etc and we have decided to use modern screw on fuel filters for ease of servicabilty ect long term , Adrian B has made up the splash plate that goes under the engine decks and that is to be fitted shortly once painted .
  11. I cant say how many there are in the world but i think my M10 is one of 5 in the UK , i beleive 3 achilles and 2 M10s
  12. Part 2 Ive done this in 2 parts as ive tried to do it twice before and its timed me out and its not posted !!! Peter is working on the fuel system at the moment and should have it finished early next week , Jim Clarke has made new seats as required for the driver / co driver and turret and they look fantastic ,current photos to be posted by Adrian B when he gets a moment ,My tracks have not left America yet and theres a good chance the tank will be finished before they arrive !! Thats all for now Adrian
  13. A friday update ,part 1 We are hoping to have the engines running buy the end of next week if all goes to plan , the turret is all but finished with the exception as of yesterday of the gun elervation gear which Carl was working on as i spoke to him , the wiring is comming on and Carl has managed to source some plugs that fit into the back of the dashboard .
  14. Im afraid not , im sure it will get restored in due time though , 1 tank is enough for me , I have just sold my Sexton and have brought a M4 high speed tractor to restore .
  15. Well Jack , I hope in the 32 miles on Sunday that we do there is a stretch of motoway for Mike Felps to let his Hellcat loose !!!
  16. Hi Alastair , The first drive who knows ??? I would like to think i will have the M10 By May as theres a fortys themed weekend at the Bluebell railway that i have promised to take it too , I have brought a set of rubber chevron tracks from a mate in America and they havnt left yet so they will be at least 6 weeks , it should be at the W and P show as a definite this year
  17. I recon the petrol tank guys ort to consider buying a few shares in Shell !!! where as us Diesel powered Tankers should be a few pounds per mile cheaper to run !!!!! Bring it on Jack , if we are taking Tanks to Dorset , 2 days is far better than 1 , lets go for it .
  18. I have just managed to source 2 original (i hope !! ) work/spot lights that go on the top of the crane mount from a mate , im trying to make the Ward as original as possible other than the cummins diesel conversion .
  19. Hi Eddy , In my limited experience of Tank restoration , buying the empty hull would be the cheap and easy bit !! ,then theres the export licence you would have to get ,(3 - 6 months ) the cost of the restoration and finding all the missing parts would be the hard part and a bottomless pit in terms of money , i dont think they would turn out to be very cheap at the end of the project .
  20. Thanks Fruitbat , it was the first one , Maiden Newton Images , Ian has also a coulpe of short videos of A and E and of the war and peace show last year .
  21. My good friend Ian has just posted his pictures of A and E 2010 on You-tube , im sorry i cant post a link or up load them on to hear but its beyond my computer skill level !! If you type in Maiden newton images into you-tube it comes up first , it brought back good memories for me of a fantastic weekend so i hope you enjoy them also ,a little reminder of whats to come next year . Adrian
  22. Hi Guys , Does anyone no what the American G number would be for my M10 Achilles , Thanks in advance Adrian
  23. Unfortunately in stripping down the W L F we have not found any hidden gold bars as yet !!!! , i brought the truck from a good friend of mine and we had it on hire on a film set for a couple of months over the summer so its turned out to be a pretty good buy after the hire , have to say that the restorations have developed a bit more than planned but the finished truck should be good when finished . The picture below is the truck on set !
  24. Hopefully below you will see some pictures of the complete 17 pounder shell cases that ive got to go in side the tank .
