  1. Well just walked in from the workshop 10-30pm , M10 fully serviced and now polished , Ward lafrance fully checked over and washed and ready to go mainly due to Too tall Mike , M4 HST well thats another bloody story , took some friends out in it for a ride down the lane and it over heated , brought 4 x new kenlow fans for it which draw 96 amps of current , the alternator is only a 55 amp one on the engine , decide to buy a high performance water pump as well to try and aid water circulation , decide to take M4 to my local vintage garage as owners son is into American muscle cars and is very good with big block V8s , turns out my engine is a 460 cubic inch and about 7.8 ltrs !!. So after fitting new high performance water pump , getting a new crank shaft pulley and water pump pully made and buying a new 165 amp alternator which needed all new mounting brackets made , every thing was fitted and test run for a hour , the following morning the inside of the hull was filled with water where the water pump glands were leaking !!!! , there was not another high performance water pump in the country , so we UPS one to the UK from the states which arrived last Friday !! along with a carb rebuild kit ,the carb was rebuilt yesterday morning and found to be dumping fuel into the engine on tick over , brought a new Holley carb yesterday afternoon which turned up this morning , duly fitted and tuned up this afternoon , collected and drove it home at 5 oclock tonight , doing 35 mph through the village going really well , half way home started running rough , when we got home it turns out its blown a exhaust gasket !!! so back to the garage at 8-30 tomorrow morning to be stripped and im probaly going to Middlesex tomorrow morning to get new exhaust gaskets !! Who would have vintage vehicles ??? Im still hoping to be at A&E Thur evening , see you all there . Adrian

  8. Im going for change of use on one of my barns to convert it from agricultral to storage , it would be totally enclosed with a locked roller shutter door ,probaly for about 13 vehicles or so , with lights and a 13 amp socket within the shed , there is also a electric gate on the farm drive to aid security , would any forum members be intrested in storage if i get planning permission in the summer and what would people think a fair price to charge per week ?? i do have a figure in mind but just wondered what other people thought or were paying ?? (Located near East Grinstead ,West Sussex ) Thanks Adrian

  11. Weve had a oil leak on the high speed tractor transmission and this afternoon Mike (tootall) traced it to the top transmission cover gasket or lack of one, it had been put back together a long time ago with some sort of instant gasket which had done its time . The transmission looks as good as new inside and we are hoping to put it back together on Thursday
  12. Morning Jack and fellow participants of A&E , Well time has been flying by and its 2 months to the day and we should be leaving camp i guess in the next half hour to trundle our merry convoy around the roads of Dorset !!! Ive some questions to ask as we are so close to kick off , How is funding shaping up as ive had my low loader firm on the phone wanting confirmation etc , I know some of the other Tankers with further to travel ( bigger low loader bills to pay ) would like some clarity to travel costs this close to the event ,my haulage firm are prepared to leave the lorry at the camp site for the weekend to save costs !!!, but this has been aranged now for over 9 months . Weymouth , When we get to Weymouth and join onto the precession along the sea front , at the end do we park up and participate in the event for the day or do we bug out and head straight back to camp ?? Would it be possible to put peoples names against the vehicles that are booked in on your list on the website ?? We are all going to meet up in the camp site any way and hopefully it will be very social this time with alot of meet and greet and getting to know other furum members. Thanks in advance Adrian

  20. I recently brought this M4 HST out of Holland and thought you might like a few pics of it . It was imported from America 3 or 4 years ago by a friend of mine and then sold to a collector in Holland who after owning and restoring it then put it up for sale the early part of this year, it was advertised on milweb .It hasnt got the original engine fitted , it has been retro fitted with a petrol Ford V8 with a 3 speed auto gear box driving through the original manual gear box of the tractor , it goes extremely well and is like a racing car compared to the M10
