  1. I went to Ardingly on Sunday morning for a couple of hours and in relation to the steam engines rear axle breaking in half ,i was told its poss a 30 K repair , now thats going to hurt someones pocket !! i also met Maverick and had a good chat and had a good look at a well blinged up jeep !!
  2. Hi Lee , It was good to meet both you and Mark yesterday ,we will be moving in on mass with vehicles on Saturday and i think unless anything changes the M10 is being collected on Sunday , fingers crossed for good weather Adrian
  3. I popped down to Jim Clarkes yesterday and picked up a new muzzle brake cover that he had made for me , hopefully pictured !!
  4. Hi Jack , Is there any other way to make a donation because i dont have a paypal account , and would like to offer a donation as i enjoy and use the forum . Adrian
  5. Hi Richard , Thanks for your kind words , yes it does look fantastic ,Carl and Peter and Adrian Barrell and his team have done a wonderful job in all of there specialist areas and its as good as new now , i think it was either Carl or Adrian that told me that they thought it was at least 50 years since the M10 last moved under its own steam and yes Im looking forward also to Beltring as ive not yet driven it and i know that Adrian B has also booked a test drive in it as it was him that found it in the play ground all those years ago and rescued it !! If your at Beltring then come and say hello and have a look at the old girl .
  6. I would like too say a big thank you to every one for there help , ive taken the decision to paint all 3 empty bottles olive drab the same colour as the lorry Thanks again Adrian
  7. We are working hard to get the Ward ready for Beltring and we have not yet painted the 2 oxygen and 1 other , I assume it is either propain or is it acetylene ??? and what colours would they have been in WW2 , Your thoughts would be most helpful .
  8. Jack ,in answer to your latest idea re Weymouth with the Tanks on the Sunday , i think its a very good idea to collect the tanks at Weymouth and return them back to camp on Lowloaders ,I have had a good chat to both Jim C and Adrian B in relation to track wear / mileage and i was worried that there was the potential for me to wear out my second hand rubber tracks in one weekend at A and E ,an expensive weekend !!! so i for one would love to drive to Weymouth with the M10 but be delivered back to camp on a lowloader . Next question , whos lowloaders were you thinking of using and would there be a cost involved ??? but other than that im really looking forward to the weekend , counting the weeks down !!! sad but true !!
  9. Does any one know when you will be allowed onto the showground to mark out a pitch ??
  10. Well guys its nearly finished , After talking with Carl on Saturday i thought i would give you a update , the last of the markings need applying and there are 7 small jobs that need finishing and ticking off the list , Adrian B has made a Transmission oil cooler guard that will be delivered to Carls this week and will need to be blasted , painted and fitted ,i hope you enjoy the photos .
  11. Here is a picture of my M4 High Speed Tractor , i dont think it needs too much loving to get it up and moving , it will be at A & E 2012 !!!
  12. Hey Jack , Thanks for that ,if you have too many armoured or tracked vehicles then its no problem to lose either the HST or Halftrack or both and i can just bring down the M10 !! , so youve set a time scale now that has to be met in the restoration of the M4 hst !!
  13. Hi Jack , Im hoping that its my M10 you have got on your list allready !!, will leave it up to you as to what i can bring down ,but would also like to add my M4 HST and Halftrack to the list please but only if there is space , Thanks Adrian
  14. Not sure really what to say about the video clip , with out meaning to be rube to the tank driver i think hes driving it like a idiot ,it all looks great fun but in my opion its not really the way to treat a historic vehicle even if its a tank !! and to be bull dozing at that speed is reckless , i was allways taught by my father , work something hard but dont abuse it ,but the driver did seem to be enjoying him self when he was sideways !!
  15. Hi Chris , Firstly welcome to the forum , i hope you enjoy its many varied topics , and secondly the M10s first public outing will be at the War and Peace show next month , if you are going , come and find me and the M10 and see what you think , Regards Adrian
  16. Thanks guys for the kind words , its just as good inside as out !! we are on the home straight now , there shouldnt be a lot left to do to it by the end of next week , i have now started cleaning the brass shell cases that i have collected over the last 3 years , i planning on doing 2 a night , its a gutty job but the results will be worth it !!
  17. You have hit the nail on the head Alistair , yes they are for 2 spare road wheels , and there should be a spare top return roller in bewteen them , i only asked Carl to do the top roller today so he will hopefully be able to get it done next week before it gets it final top coat of paint and markings !!
  18. Looking very good , a very nice paint job , looks a lovely vehicle
  19. Just thought i would post a picture to show were we are at , When time allows Adriab B will post some more pics of progress so far and will give a update .
  20. We have gone for white interior in the m10 and have painted the checker plate floor below the open turret green !!
  21. Hi Jack , Please count me in to Weymouth with the M10 , i think if we are going to transport tanks down to Dorset then a 2 day road run makes more sence . But to carry on from Jims reply , the fuel for the tanks is the cheap bit , its the track wear thats the expensive bit , about £50 per mile !!, second hand sherman rubber track from America is about 8-10 K per set and Adrian Barrell put new old stock rubber track on his Sherman when he restored it and has done approx 100 miles since and now his track is half worn !! so a 20 - 30 mile road run would cost £1000-£1500 in track wear alone and petrol about £ 160 , could we not use the track costs as matched funding re the Lottery application ??
  22. Hey Rick , Looking very good ,it sounds like its comming on in leaps and bounds , keep up the good work , it will come right in the end and it will put a big smile on your face when you get to drive it for the first time !! ,(ive not yet driven mine yet and im smiling ) if you are going to W and P this year i look forward to meeting you for a beer !!. All the best Adrian
  23. Hi Jack , Thanks for posting the latest info on A and E , it sounds fantastic but putting my buisness head on for a miniute , i dont think a £20 per person fee is enough money for you to feed us for the weekend , supply showers and toilets , no one wants to pay over the odds but every one who attends wants to be there and dosnt expect you to subsidize in any shape or form , we all thought the food was fantastic last year and it was so easy with 118 doing the cooking , so dont worry if it needs to be more per person , the event is well worth it , Regards Adrian
  24. Hi Jack , Just wondered if you have any news yet on A and E 2012 that you can share with us ?? im sure youve got it in hand but i think we are all very much looking forward to it !! Regards Adrian
  25. Things are moving forward , Carl is now on the home straight ,and within the next 2 weeks the completed turret is to be re fitted , the final coats of paint applied to the outside of the hull ,the steel tracks used for testing perposes has been removed and rubber track will be refitted , Carl has a list of bits and pieces which need finishing and ticking off the list . I was up at the yard one evening last week dropping off a couple of parts and had a good look over and its better than i could ever imagined , we are hoping it will be finished before the end of June and on its way down south and be at the War and Peace show !!
