  1. Hi Jack , Just to confirm that i have just reregistered on line for the vehicles we are bringing down and that your payment has left my account a couple of days ago , now to worry about period clothing for all of us !!! I think Soldier of Fortune will have a good pre Xmas sales rush . Thanks Adrian
  2. Booked in Jack and payment sent , ticking the days of the calendar
  3. Before you all get carried away in buying the 40 HSTs ,they are meant to be in a very rough state , no engines or transmissions or rear bodies !!! ,then you have got to transport them to the docks and then import them to the uk with a rather large shipping bill , you might be better in leaving your 7 grand in your pocket .
  4. Hi Jack , Just wondered if you had any updates regarding A&E that you can share with us at this time ? with only about 7 months to go it will fly by!! Thanks Adrian
  5. Ram Kangeroos were used as tracked APCs for the infantry in WW2 just as 432s are today .We had a Ram Kangeroo on our pitch this year at W & P that is being restored by Carl B and i believe is the only running and driving one in the world !!
  6. I think Degsy is right , it will take a lot of organising and will probaly lose money , Adrian B had discussed with me about having a beer tent at the camp site which we thought would be a good place to socialize and meet fellow forum members over a pint ,it could be run on a bring a bottle type affair , if ever one brought a pack of fosters , wine etc or what ever they drunk it wouldnt have any financial impact on A&E etc , only my thoughts , it would be intresting to see what other members thought ???
  7. Only the tank has been tinkered with i might add !!! and only for the better , more power , hardly any smoke , a lean mean high speed machine !!
  8. A very good reply Alastair , to keep both the Adrians happy , so now i expect you will want to drive both of them at A& E to see whether its petrol or diesel ??
  9. I didnt think Sherman and protective armour went in the same sentence !!! the jerries didnt think so !!! the Americans even welded steel patches on the out side of there shermans to help the jerries aim better at the amunition stowed in side the hull !!!! now as for my M10 , its got a massive mantlet on the front of the turret for added crew protection with its modern angled armour design ,it puts Shermans to shame !! even our modern chally 2s have been coppied from the M10s hull design , i rest my case .
  10. Morning Jack , If its ok could you add my " escourt vehicle " jeep to the list please . Thanks Adrian
  11. I think Mr B was very unfair when he welded a very large 3inch solid steel bar in the middle of my large gun barrel !! i think he new he would be onto a loser in a straight out and out shooting match at the club house with his small , short gun !!!! rather than 10 paces at dawn how about a drinking contest at A & E next year ??? with JACK buying the drinks for the winner !!! , Im sure Mr B would second that !!!
  12. I would just point out that it's only true on the battle field and no where else !!!
  13. Rosie , im sorry to contridict you but size does matter ,it allways has done , the longer the barrel , the bigger the impact ,ask any man or tanker !!!! , you would feel a lot safer sat behind my long barrelled 17 pounder in the M10 than you would sat behind Adrian Bs short barrelled 75 mm Sherman gun , it would be like comparing a man to a boy !!!
  14. Not sure what to say in reply to Mr Barrells coments that my "tank" is only a self propelled gun !!! , would just like to remind him that it only took 1 SPG to knock out a TIGER and not the average 5 or 6 tanks of his sort !!!!
  15. Alastair, I can guarantee there won't be any chickens inside the M10 , I think Carl would RING my neck if I did that !!! I'm happy To post some pictures of the interior but there is a article hopefully coming out in CMV magazine in the near future and I Don't want to mess that up , when that has happened I'm more than happy to give a detailed photo update of the combat Ready interior !! Adrian
  16. Its first night under canvas at W&P !! Being towed by my Ward lafrance
  17. A quick update !! Well we made it to the War & Peace show this year with the M10 , straight from the work shop where it had been in the clean and dry for the last 2 or so years and delivered straight into the Beltring mud !!! , where it then stayed sheeted up for the next 2 days due to wet weather . It was its first outing since being restored and we expected a few problems to show up ,of which they did , the main problem was that it didnt like turning left ,it would turn left but only with alot of effort !! but since the tank is now back at home ,Carl has been down and is in the process of sorting it out . We had fun with it at the show ,firstly it was one of 3 sherman based Tank destroyers being towed with 3 Ward lafrances on the Fri into the arena ,and we took part in the armoured run sat eve around the show ground with our leader Jack in command on the top of the tank !!! . The last bits and pieces are in hand to be finished , Adrian B is in the process of making 2 more turret seats assemblys and Jim Clarke is making the seat cushions and a vinel sock that goes over the elevation screw thread located under the gun . Im on the look out for a breech block , turret lock and complete rear tow hook assembly . Hummer Mark has very kindly lent me the rear exhaust deflector assembly to get copied and i need to attach the leather square to the breech guard and then its just about finished , in time for A & E next year !!
  18. Hi David , Welcome to the Forum , i live in Sharpthorne not very far from you All the best Adrian

  20. Hi Alastair , I went to t in t 2 years ago and if my memory serves me well its a fairly prompt start on the Sunday morning , im going over with friends this year on the friday for the weekend and im going to be a crew member on there M36 Jackson , come and say hello .
  21. Good evening Jack , Only 10 months to go now , not that ANY of us who took part last year are counting the days or months until next June !!! ,i just wondered if you had any updates on the lottery funding yet that you may be able to share with us , i do realise that more time may need to pass before your in a position to update us with any of that sort of info ?? Regards Adrian
  22. Well done Mark , Its good to hear that you have now got what you have wanted for a while , it will look a different beast with a fresh coat of paint on it , very much look forward to being given the full tour next year at Beltring , and if 1 Ward lafrance cant pull it then we can allways hook 2 together !!! Very pleased for you Adrian
