  1. Welcome aboard, I am getting a broken link for the FB page.
  2. Two frigging turrets, Adrian why do you tease me........These are for a AEC MK III though aren't they? I could use the parts off of them and maybe modify them to make them work or am I just dreaming again........I know they had the same 75mm and Besa, so maybe the mounts and other crap are still in them.. Maybe we need to get a hold of the Belgium museum to see about them, or are these in France? haha
  3. I have never seen you drink red wine, it has been Fosters! Ohh and Rick has more than one Churchill up his sleeve....I think he will have a bloody platoon someday!
  4. NP, Rick has my dash if you need to borrow it too, I think Adrian has some dashes along with Ian, they might have the correct dash dimmer switch.
  5. Awesome name for a tank "Virgin", I wonder if it was penetrated by any German's?
  6. Rick, I think the tank went east or it was sold prior, most of the good armor and vehicles were kept for the new museum, others that had deep pockets were allowed to buy prior to the auction and had their picks of pieces, it is good to have close friends, that is what a little birdie told me, I am trying to get the exact location, so yours is still really the only one on the market, well Adrian's is still too (but in pieces), but close to being sold, and mine is in pieces too.
  7. Wow, don't try that at home kiddies...
  8. Well they are awesome to drive and depending on the make, model etc. parts are pretty easy to get or not, again depending on the overall condition of the vehicle, is it 100% restored or is it a work in progress. I know Ford engines and parts can be expensive there, but over the pond they aren't bad. We can't drive metal tracks on the road, so I can't give you any advice there, but I have seen some lovely videos of the little buggers cruising around the UK, which makes me jealous, I have driven them off road and they are a blast. They fit in a garage, you can trailer them pretty easy, depending on your vehicle and local laws, they weigh about 9500 pounds for T16 and 8500 pounds for Bren, only 12 feet long and less than 7 feet wide. I know people that just use a roll back to move them, others just use a truck and 10K pound trailer, maybe some of the carrier owners can jump in like Rick, Shaun or the others.. I am one of the stupid ones that has owned armor, and has had to hire a special truck and trailer, get wide load permits and pay extra money to move them heavy bastards, not counting maintenance, fuel cost and the continuous issue of additional cost for storage!!!
  9. I will throw my pfennings in or as we say my pennies worth in. I can see both cases equally. Those of us that have military vehicles would like to keep them. There are muppets out there that can do disservice to the community of law abiding vehicle owners. We had a vehicle owner last year in the north of the country cruise around the neighborhood on one of the holidays in his scout car and was shooting his propane .50 cal, which had numerous 911 calls and the local police showed up. The incident in Ca. was not a vehicle owner, the tank was stolen from the national guard armory and driven doing destruction on the highway. After that there was a big call to limit or make sure that individuals did not own heavy tanks/vehicles. It is the politicians and the ones that get their butts hurt when they see something that threatens them and they are the first to bring up anti-gun, anti-military, anti-armor etc. We fight with people all the time, asking them when was the last time you saw a tank drive down the road, park in front of a bank and blow the doors off (besides Kelly's Heroes). I for one own numerous pieces of armor, and I am not rich, I work my arse off to afford them and go without on other things. I for one would love to be able to get money to show my vehicles or help keep up with maintenance. When you have a vehicle with 115 gallons of fuel and gets 1-2mpg (filling the tank is over 1000 USD, and our fuel is cheaper), we just have to make sure that the ones that we are protesting against do not feel threatened or they will be the first ones to raise hell, which will go against any cause. Most of the time it isn't the vehicle owners that do something wrong, but the dumb arse spectator or someone that doesn't know better puts themselves in a situation and gets hurt. Remember the little boy that was hurt (killed) I think at War and Peace a few years ago, if I remember correctly, and that was from a Land Rover if I remember. I think all parties are correct, the biggest thing to remember is presentation and is it offensive? If I took a German tank to a neo-nazi rally then that would be bad...so I think it depends on the situation involved, where good judgment is used, is the deciding factor. So I just ran out of laptop battery so I am signing off...
  10. I have early vehicles are 3.7 to 1 final drive 39.5mph at 2550rpm Later vehicles 4.5 to 1 final drive 32.5mph at 2550rpm But I think this could be adjusted by removing the electrical governors that are incorporated in each magneto, they are set to prevent maximum engine speed from being exceeded, they let unburned fuel go into the exhaust system so the engine won't go above the set speed limit. I have heard that some crews removed the governors so they could go faster...
  11. Nice looking Tilly with Indep. Czech Brigade..
  12. Looks great, if my arse moves permanently to the UK or overseas, I will be sourcing a Wolf, until then I have to keep my 25 year old Landy for the USA..
  13. Well did some more work on her, had a bad engine in Romania, head gasket, pistons and rings shot craps, was leaking oil like a *****, so had an XMOD one in a crate sent from the UK (0 miles) and had my Landy mechanic drop it in, with a new 0 MPH speedo, did a full respray, installed Wolf door cards and a few other things (halogen LHD lights) new vacuum pump fenders, PAS etc.
  14. Kevin, got around to downloading my pics. I am going to leave mine black, my HSC was is black and I want it to be a little different than all the other ones out there. Just have to put my gauges in too, with the correct length of wire and coil.
  15. I really need to just sell a few things and buy Rick's too, then I can have two...:-D
  16. You mean like this? I like the one especially with the PLM mount and dual vickers, and of course the famous Shufti Cush.
  17. I have about 20 more I will download of more details, and some video too.
  18. Pics of the late war cupola that I will use, (it takes 8 of the episcopes pictured) some of the restored dash and a few other bits for it, plus a few other angles.
  19. Looking good Kevin. My dash has been redone and it is in black, and I will leave it in black, like my Humber instead of painting it white, so it will be a little different than Ricks and yours, unless he already painted it.. I will add some pictures of mine here, have to download them from the iPhone. Lance Adrian, don't forget to send me a list of the bits and prices, so I can send you some bosh before Rick comes to see you.
