  1. Welcome to the land of fruit and honey...or gasoline and diesel..
  2. That is true, Dingo's are nice, hence the selling of my 42 Ford, found a Dingo and now just need more funds to get it.... The Stuart in the background was one that came out of Brazil. If anyone is interested I just found out several days ago that another Humber Scout is on the market, 32K Euro and needs a complete restoration, comes with a spare engine, transmission and some electrical components and the ultra uber rare PLM mount, which I am missing :-(....
  3. I have pictures of that one, but didn't know where it was located. Thanks...
  4. From the research that has been done from a UK armoured car group, there are about 18 or so that have been accounted for. Most of the ones are in museums (in different states of condition) the ones that get out the most from museums and are running are the one from Jersey Isles and the Dutch Calvary Museum, there are 4 or 5 in private hands unrestored and mine that is restored. I purchased mine out of Holland. Below are the locations and owners, I have only put their initials down, due to respecting their privacy. 5. No problem, good luck on your endeavor..
  6. Hello and welcome from a previous hose dragger...."I am talking about firehoses here everyone!"
  7. There was one or two that went for a little over 100K-150K USD within the last 2 years in an auction, so all the Schwimmer owners thought they could get that to, it was a freak buy that someone paid that much. Most are listed from 100-200K USD and aren't selling at all, I think that 80+ is probably where you will start to see some sell again. The price of Stuarts in the USA has gone through the roof, some are advertised for 200-250K USD now, if someone wants it bad enough and they have enough money then they will pay just to have it, they were about 100K several years ago, fully restored.... I had a chance to buy a M18 Hellcat for about 125K in 2006, it sold in 2009 for 250K plus.. :banghead:
  8. Does anyone have, or have access to a lubrication chart for a Humber Scout? Looking for the correct fluids etc. for mine or a copy of the chart if feasible.
  9. That is what I had to do with one of mine, used a 40's era bulb holder that I found on E*** , rewired it with correct cloth wiring and put in a new 6 volt bulb and viola.. Is this going on a vehicle? Kubel perhaps?
  10. There is a gentleman in the USA, I think who has made fiberglass bodies, complete (just need the drive train etc) I will see if I can locate his info. Found it: http://panzerwerks.net/schwimmwagon/schwimmer.htm
  11. http://www.kooblekar.com/ The kubels, just don't look right to me, I have owned two "original, 43 and 44" and have seen several of the repro ones, even next to my originals, the wheels and tires are way to big and make the chassis sit to high off the ground, if you would use VW/kubel wheels and tires it would probably look better, there are some other cosmetic abnormalities, also turn key runs about 15k USD. Don't get me wrong, some people would rather pay this for a repro then the $ for originals these days, but in the end you have a repro, that won't hold its value and won't increase in value. I think his Horch, Kommandeur VW and Steyr designs are more authentic. For my money I would buy repro parts, gentleman in Czech Rep. makes complete bodies, wheels, seats etc. and use a late 40's-50's era pan, with a 35 HP engine "you can find those all day long" Then you would have a vehicle that would look the part, also a lot of kubels on the market now have a lot of repro if not all repro bodies, some on post war pans, so gotta think there...
  12. See that is what I mean, give and take, problem is when the US stuff leaves the US it never returns , but if the Brit stuff leaves the UK, it can return :-D. I am trying to sell one of my jeeps to you guys, we have enough in the states....Someone dangle a carrot, shoot a good offer.... "I know it is a banana and not a carrot, but hey.. Currently in the market for a Landy...found my Dingo...need $$$$$$$$$
  13. Great another Yank, now I am not alone :beer:welcome aboard.. Makes my list look puny, need to collect more.....
  14. Welcome from across the pond...one of the crazy US collectors. Currently looking for a Landy besides the Dingo...
  15. Most of my Brit stuff I get from you guys, but some of the bits and bobs I get from Holland, Canada and Belgium. The Humber I got out of Holland, my jeeps are from the states, all of my German stuff was in the states when I acquired it. The A/B trailer was out of Kent. I need to make the W&P show sometime, better bring a lotta cash though, I feel as if I would be a kid in a candy store. There were a lot of disgruntled Brits when they found out that one of the only Humbers not in a museum went to a Yank.
  16. The name doesn't ring a bell, does he live in St. Louis, Mo. is he on the list?
  17. Thanks for the kind words, actually thought no one was gonna say "Hello" Pics of the Humber Scout Car: http://www.warwheels.net/humberscout2varga.html I still need to do some minor work on it, install my WS 19, new markings "44th RTR/4th Armoured Brigade", tidy it up, make a new cover for the drive shaft/transmission on the chassis, PLM mount, grab handles, couple of storage boxes on the interior (grenade, sten mag holder, and map board holder) change the mirrors etc. Pics of the 42 FORD Jeep: FOR SALE "Really motivated to sell, it is listed here under vehicles for sale, will work out a heck of a deal if someone is interested, really want a Dingo that I found and need to come up with the funds, shoot me a offer." http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/lssah2025/42%20Ford/?albumview=slideshow http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/lssah2025/42%20Ford/?albumview=grid The Following were from a website that I created, once I left the reenacting unit I turned it over to someone else.
