  1. God bless Margaret Thatcher. She was the one who made me feel proud to be British. God bless the brave souls who travelled thousands of miles against all the odds who implemented the actions and God bless those who made the ultimate sacrifice for God, Queen and country against a military dictatorship trying to impose their will upon free citizens, who counted themselves as subjects of the British empire. Whenever I think of this I fill with pride simultaniously as my eyes well with tears. At the same time... The British blood lost means that they could never become Argentinian territory, unless the good people of the Falklands decided that was their choice. If a previous government had'nt decomissioned the Ark Royal years previouly, the losses would have been far less with air superiority fighters on hand.... I am sure that with the resolve we could still undertake such a mission, but I would threaten Buenos Aires with nuclear armageddon first....
  2. A terrible tragedy, and the death of a good man. My Polish employees respected him so he must have been a decent chap. I hope that the loss of so many prominent figures in the Polish establishment does not cause instability. It sounds like pilot error is to blame. Does anyone know what type of aircraft it was? A sad day.
  3. I honestly believe that the Stalin era soviets were worse than the Nazis. My Polish employees also hold this opinion. Winston Churchill was reputedly in tears because having gone to war against an aggressor invading Poland, The Nazis were simply replaced by another, the Soviets, for the next 45 years...To the victor the spoils??
  4. I am speechless!!! It looks fantastic. A credit to you, Mark.:-)
  5. The things that they built for the military are very well designed and engineered .:-) Unlike the Moskvich and Lada:-(
  6. I just love Phantoms... Does any other aircraft look as good?
  7. This looks like a lovely old truck. The Diesel engine is surprisingly modern in layout. Bussing were pioneers in Diesel engine development.
  8. If the late, great Alan Clark can be brought back from the other side, then maybe it will indeed....
  9. I understood that as long as it is not current uniform that was being worn, then there was no problem...But I may be wrong...
  10. In fairness the Centurion quickly eclipsed the JS3 and outlived it by a considerable margin.
  11. Nice to welcome someone from God's own country:-)
  12. It is strange but until about a decade or two ago I always referred to the M3 series of halftracks as the White halftrack. Who actually built the most units because Autocar built them too. The Autocar always seemed a well built truck, well engineered and solid. Which were the best finished of the bunch? The Halftrack is an iconic vehicle. I love it!!!
  13. Praise the Lord... Well Lee at any rate. Top Banana, old chap:-)!!!
  14. I personally believe that it is a tragedy to use a rarity like a Conquerer as a range target. Surely there must be something with less collectability to destroy?
  15. I was in WH Smiths today and there was a very interesting article about Bordon or somewhere and there was an amazing amount of armour there, ripe for restoration...Did anybody else see it?
  16. Perhaps the sweetest Jeep I have ever seen....:-)
  17. The King Tiger is a fantastic piece of engineering and an important piece of history. Worth every penny, in my opin and if we can cancel debts to third world countries then we can definately afford to restore a worthy link in the genesis of armoured fighting vehicles. If I had the cash, I wold have one myself...
