  1. Lots of NOS ferret internal bins are green.
  2. Sounds like my Sabre gearbox, I wouldn't worry about it.
  3. Hi Rick, They do tend to make a buzzing noise at idle caused by a pressure relief valve. If you had a video of the noise we could let you know if it is normal or not! Chris
  4. Have you cleaned out the relief valve that exits the hull on the opposite side to the exhaust? These are often blocked.
  5. The ignition modules do go wrong so if you do what Tim says and still have no luck it's worth changing the module or the distributor and seeing if that solves it.
  6. You can get ISO 10 very easily, look on eBay for T10 hydraulic fluid.
  7. I have one of these, I think 1954 dated, in the garage somewhere. I can bring it to W&P if anyone wants to make an offer for it. Chris
  8. Mike it's not changed, it's been like that since they started!
  9. You should get a phone call and/or email to tell you you've won. If you hear nothing you were unsuccessful. Chris
  10. Colin, I suggest you visit the War & Peace Revival if you enjoyed tankfest. There are usually around 4000 military vehicles at that show. Chris
  11. Running stationary and running under load are very different.
  12. You don't need to let the clutch disengage, it is a hot shift gearbox. You can change up without easing off. When changing down you need to let the engine slow right down before changing down, especially from 4th to 3rd. I always slow down through the gears and you hardly ever need to use the brakes if done right.
  13. Is it flat? Maybe warping when it is hot?
  14. Danubiana, not sure who sells them though.
  15. Got them on mine, no problems at all.
  16. Happy Tim Hortons day Robin!
  17. Robin - I can't take it to W&P looking too scruffy! It's still full of graffiti inside and the paint is flaking already as I didn't strip it all off, but it looks good from a distance! Raffz - I like to put vehicles back to how they would have been when in service, usually I paint them in the same colours I found them. I would try and keep the original scheme and markings. Chris
  18. All jobs completed and ready for W&P. I was planning on putting more markings on it, but these will do for the time being. Looking forward to the show now, are any other people bringing CVRTs? Chris
  19. Have you seen it? The Arrows 1.3/4 Ton trailer is a big beast, they are not very popular and mint ones are not expensive. They are heavy if you need to move it on your own .
  20. You can catch a train straight into London from the show site, then it's pretty easy to get to the airport.
  21. I used Shiply to get a M151 back from Portugal, got a good price from a guy coming back empty after dropping off a Jet Ski.
  22. I think you'll be there all week trying to put those hoses on with the engine in place. The fittings are angled and can be a bugger to get right at the best of times. My advice is lift the engine out, put them on in the right place, tie the ones for the gearbox up near the carb, fit the exhaust all the way to the y piece and then put the engine back in. I have done lots and always do it this way. Most take out units you see still have the pipes and exhaust connected this way too. Chris (still in Normandy!)
  23. Chris, There are only 4 brake bands, the 5th gear just uses a clutch. I have never replaced them but I believe if you replace the linings they need machining, but not if you replace the entire brake band assemblies. Chris
  24. Interconnecting box 2 radio (IB2) rather than crew box 2 set (CB2) too !
