  1. They are asking about twice what it's really worth.. http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicles/,25,103,/Wolf.htm
  2. Steve, Welcome to the forum. You will need to get the Jeep verified by the MVT, then fill in a V55 with the dating letter and probably a NOVA form. Chris
  3. Ok, that makes 5. I'll place an order and see how we get on! Chris
  4. Is there any interest in new manufacture rear hull bin covers for Sabre? I am talking to the manufacturer and they come in at around £120. I might be ordering some for my vehicles so could order a few more if required. Chris
  5. Changing them is very involved, probably easier to buy a new gearbox if they are worn out!
  6. How long is a piece of string? 10 years ago when they released all the petrol CVRTs they were all missing engines and messier dampers. If you could find an engine it wouldn't have a heat exchanger. 5/6 years later the engines were released and they were everywhere. Messier dampers were unobtainable, then very expensive, now everyone has some they are worth next to nothing. In 5/6/10 years time there will be loads of gearboxes and no vehicles as they will have been scrapped or sold abroad. If you have the money and the space it's probably worth gambling on buying a nice one and storing it. Chris
  7. Gearboxes have been available, I was able to find one for my Scimitar and even had a spare for some time. I am told it costs £58000 to upgrade a petrol gearbox to a diesel one if you send it to David Brown. There is an issue with them in service with the casings cracking. There are also several upgrades which have been done to them, for example the TN15E and TN15E+. These will be the ones they are removing to keep for spares, as they were mainly used over in BATUS all the Sturgeons, Salamanders etc which had them fitted have had them removed before disposal.
  8. Phil, I hope that's just a typo as there is no clutch pedal! If you've been using it as one then you could be in for some problems. It sounds like a false neutral to me. Get both feet on it and try to press it down. Chris
  9. There are also several versions of these. Some have a small side door, some a larger one. Some have an additional bar at the top as part of the door mechanism, most don't. I have a small side door and hinge and need a larger one... long shot but I'd swap it for the bit I need!
  10. Seb, It's made up of several pieces, the door and main body are easy to cast but then you need the hinge, the door in the side and it's hinge etc. it will also all need machining. Quite a lot of work! Chris
  11. None of the CVRTs in the tender have gearboxes.
  12. Removing those pins is hard work!... but it is perfectly possible with the arms still on the vehicle. I've done it on the petrol Spartan we had. You'll need to make up an extractor, I borrowed one made by another forum member for the same task. You will also require a very long breaker bar. I think we had to use one that was 900mm long or longer to get enough torque to pull the pins through. The new inserts will go in much easier, I think we knocked them in with a hammer and block of wood. If you do have the time/space and a press it might be easier to remove them from the vehicle and do it that way. Chris
  13. Steve, I would be interested if you decide to sell it. I need one for my GPW. Chris
  14. From Wikipedia: 1 Air Mobility Wing - The 1 AMW is a specialist unit of the RAF trained in the loading and unloading of transport aircraft. This unit operates in conjunction with the Hercules detachment.
  15. It's worked very well on the 2 tanks I've done with it.
  16. Do you think it is currently sand and back? Because the photo shows a faded nato green and black vehicle. The mod infra red reflecting paint fades quite quickly to a colour which can look grey or sand. The paint colours are listed in BS381C as NATO Green shade 285 and light stone shade 361.
  17. Hi Rebecca and congratulations on your military Land Rover. Before you start bolting guns and antennas on to it you should find out what you actually have. I believe you don't have a true military land rover but more a civilian model purchased by the mod and possibly fitted with military towing equipment. What makes me say this is the 5 door station wagon and emerald green colour. It is currently NATO green and not emerald green, which is a civilian colour, but one the MOD chooses when they buy land rovers which are not destined for use on the battlefield. 99.9% of military land rovers are only very basic 3 door vehicles. Have a look at http://www.mod-sales.com to get an idea. If you look on Google for a Land Rover vin checker website you can decode the vin number and see what body type it had. You can also get the MERLIN database report from the MOD using a freedom of information request. Try the search box on here and you should get the email address. Once you have the report we can tell you where it's been and who had it. Chris
  18. If you have to pump the brakes it will fail an MOT!
  19. For manuals try http://www.greenmachinesurplus.com
  20. It's been ages since I got to spend any time on this one, but this weekend was a bit of a mixed bag. The brakes are now sorted, everything electrical seems to work ok and so we put the drivers seat in, bulkhead on etc. Also fitted the turret ring. It was a bit tight without the turret on, with it on I can't turn it at all. It needs to come of for further fettling but for now the turret is bolted on. I took it for a thrash about and it has developed a clicking noise from the clutch at idle, seems to run and drive fine otherwise. Looking much better with the decks on!
  21. Paul, What are the rubber bits on the sprocket carriers like? Do they look like 50p coins or are they still round? Chris
  22. Long has the head and short doesn't. Seems like a lot of money for a pile of junk, it doesn't sound like there's one complete one between them. When I needed a piston I got it from xk engineering, but banisters probably have them too.
