  1. Nicky, The new plugs you have look like RSN13P, these are for vehicles with B series engines, Ferret, Champ etc. You need RSN12Y or equivalent.
  2. Sandy, They are still used on 'A' vehicles - our Spartan came out of service a little over 12 months ago fitted with them inside. Chris
  3. Robin, I know Marcus Glenn was selling those brackets with the red tab on the end a few years ago. Never seen them fitted to a vehicle though as released from the mod, and we've had a fair few now. Chris
  4. Get yourself a manual and copy the dimensions and weights. I've done several and only ever supply the basic information. Chris
  5. I think this has to be a fuel issue. Try running from a clean Jerry can, if no good try a new fuel pump. Double check that air isn't getting in at any joints in the fuel pipes too.
  6. I have used the same trick Richard suggests before too and it does work.
  7. Robin, You can maybe try turning them round by one spline? I'll email you some instructions. Chris
  8. I may be wrong, but I think that's no comms trailer! It's an RB44 comms body on a wide track trailer! There are 'proper' communications trailers around, many of which were converted to aircraft battle damage repair trailers. I had 2 of them!
  9. There isn't exactly much choice in the way of clubs. Join the MVT, it's the biggest and gives the most benefits.
  10. There's a bigger problem than the spelling...
  11. Aviation Jersey rebuild plate on the side of the engine.
  12. You've got a lot of work there! What were they trying to do with the doors on the side and extra 'stuff'?

    photos spacing

If you don't insert a break, press enter a few times etc, between the photos your web browser tries to put them on the same line.
  14. It's been a long time since I updated this thread.. needless to say the Spartan made it to W&P, other than a leak from the heater matrix there were no issues. We did the road run through Hythe which was enjoyable, other than the crazy 432 driver I had to follow! Here's a video of us enjoying the arena... I just love the diesel exhaust note in the on board footage! And some photos too.. Work before next year is to fix the leaky heater matrix, and repair some unfortunate damage to the rear end. I'm not sure if it will be going back to W&P next year, if I'll get the Scimitar down there, or if we don't take either of them. Chris
  15. Matt, I never broke down in either the Lightweight or the M151. I did lots more miles in the Lightweight and the only issue I can think of is when the brake warning light came on. That was solved with a new rear wheel cylinder, it was still fitted with the originals at that stage. I have had no issues with the M151, but then I replaced nearly everything on it when I built it! You have to remember both are old vehicles so you're more likely to have problems with old or worn out parts than anything else. Chris
  16. Hi Matt, I'm not really sure what information you are looking for... I have owned and restored both a Series 3 Lightweight and a M151A2. I sold the Lightweight a few years ago, but still have a few Land Rovers. One reason for selling it was that it spent most of it's time sitting in the garage, it was not as useful as the 110s as I couldn't get as much stuff in the back. The M151 spends just as much time sat in the garage, but it is at least a bit different when I take it out and about. Both suffer from rust, but the Lightweight is easier to fix as you can get the chassis sections and repair it fairly easily. The M151 requires a lot more effort to fix and mine had to have new floors etc. In the UK at least Land Rover parts are cheap and easy to obtain, restoring the M151 over here cost me a small fortune in shipping and import duty alone. Over your side of the pond the opposite will no doubt apply! Chris
  17. Wrong end of the stick I think... This one was for sale, the others you mention are not! You never know, the new owner may have loads of parts stashed away waiting for a hull to come along.
  18. Sorry Lauren! A friend also has one and rates it highly.
  19. Last year I bought a Land Rover 110 from Withams through an online auction for less than £2000. It had a full tank of diesel, the battery was charged and it passed an MOT with no advisories straight away. It is a useable 4x4 military truck and you will get one for less than £2k if you are patient. Nobody has mentioned RB44s, you may pay a bit more than £2k but you could get one which needs tidying through a tender fairly cheap too. Chris
  20. I agree that the colour they have mixed is not like your original colour, and that your original colour is more of a brown colour. We used paint mixed to a recipe made up for someone who is no longer a forum member on our MW. Chris
  21. Having ordered one of these poppies I'd quite like it to be removed and send to me so I can put it in my garden!
