  1. I found this: The Austin K2 ambulance used was four wheel drive, and had presumably been converted for the movie using a front axle and wheels from a Canadian Military Pattern truck, along with a transfer case and prop drive shafts. The hubs are slightly different to that on a normal K2, and the differential housing of the live axle can be seen on some shots. It was probably changed so it could extricate itself more easily in the shots where it was bogged down. There's seems to have been two Austin K2s used for "Katy", as in some shots, it has the driven front axle, and in others, the original beam axle fitted to these vehicles.
  2. Yes, I can take them to work and scan them then email them to you. No problem but might take a couple of days.
  3. The engine mounts look very good and are a good fix. The parts book looks in excellent condition, will be very helpful.
  4. I have seen a few restored but not many.
  5. Thats a strange thing, I have just been sent a copy of the ERF photo above and was going to post it! I have a 1946 ERF CI5 tipper that we are currently restoring.
  6. I have seen something very similar before, I think it looks like an Austin 7 trailer.
  7. So we all know of the Hillman Minx based Utility but what about the prewar Hillman Hawk/16 Utility. With it being larger would it be still defined as a light utility or a heavy utility I wonder? Kevin
  8. I did take some when the car was in the garage but they came out too dark. I will push her outside and take some better ones.
  9. My Minx needs a respray and the door bottoms are bubbling. She is already grey so I am starring to think about re-creating a wartine Royal Navy staff car like one of these.
  10. Agreed. But just look at the amount of sellers on ebay and the like claiming commercials are exempt when they are from the 60's/70's.
  11. If it is over 7.5 tons does it not fall into the Historic category meaning it needs to be pre-1960 for MOT exemption?
  12. I like the work done and your workshop!
  13. Any way of finding out more about Pathe News vehicles maybe?
  14. Thats a name from the past, I had help from the Kithead Trust about 25 years ago to retain the original reg number on a Ford 10 that I have.
  15. The chap you bought it from never mentioned any history before he had it, no leads to go from him maybe? Or is he still contactable to ask?
  16. I had a grill for a prewar Ford car shipped over from New Zealand not long ago. I searched online for couriers who would pick up, pack and ship to the UK. Have you had a search online for couriers?
  17. Well, I think that looks pretty good, I would be pleased with that.
  18. I take my hat off to you, this is what its all about. Preserving our motoring heritage. Kevin
  19. I do like the look of that restored one.
  20. Very impressive work I must say, so time consuming but lovely results.
  21. After a bit of thinking I would open my feild out slightly to incorporate the Humber Heavy Utility, I am quite taken by them now. So, any wartime Commers or Humbers, any condition just let me know. A good home is waiting for the right vehicle. Kevin
  22. Thanks for letting me know. I must admit to being quite taken by it, I am really hunting for a wartime Commer but if another Humber box comes up I will be keen to take a look. Kevin
