Hi All,

I have the 'radio' kit as shown in the photos. Can anyone tell me what it is, what sort of date is it, and where would it have been used/installed?

Cheers

Simon,

That's Larkspur kit from an armoured vehicle. Could have been Ferret, Saracen etc. It dates from the 60s/70s.

The Microphone is a Larkspur COMMANDERS variant, as opposed to the drivers version. It has a switch assembly which enables the commender to select from two different radio sets if installed. And also to 'Buzz' the driver to get his attention.

The headset is NOT a normal vehicle issued larksupr headset.

Hope this is helpfull to you Simon. :coffee:

Hi,

The I-Box is the intercom box for a Larkspur radio harness setup (provides connection for headset, gain control and amplification for the audio line).

The microphone and chest rig are the commanders mic unit for a Larkspur setup.

The headset does not look Larkspur (not enough contacts on the plug), has more of a 19 set era look about it.

Thanks Chaps,

Great answers, and useful info. The set came in a bag with other kit that I acquired a while ago, and is in fact surplus to requirements. If necessary, I will put it on ePay at some point in the future, but will offer it on HMVF first. PM me if you are interested as you chaps get first refusal. I will put it in the classifieds section shortly.

Cheers

The headset is a general purpose one for 1940-1970 type kit. The plug is a No 10 and fits a wide variety of military uses.

The commander's mike! I had entirely forgotten that it existed in a different form from that of the crewman. Shame on me, a Larkspur-trained Control Signaller at that.
