Enigma
Yesterday evening we had a powerfailure. Soon we noticed a large area was affected and rumours spread quickly. What happened was that 1 of our Apache helicopters during a low flying night excersise hit the powercables spanning the river Waal. The helicopter landed safely. Since 03:00 hours we have power but large area's still haven't. Even the street behind us is out. Here some pics I took this morning. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/Hoogspanningskabels004Small.jpg[/img] http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/Hoogspanningskabels011Small.jpg[/img] http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/Hoogspanningskabels005Small.jpg[/img]
Joris
You sure are lucky to have power restored so quickly, the rest will not be connected for hours...

Enigma
We had candles lit last evening. I went walking through the village with my headlamp, no problem for us. Here the Appache in the grasslands. According to the mIlitary Police I spoke 1 of the guys in the apache was lightly wounded by glass. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/Hoogspanningskabels015Small.jpg[/img]

Enigma
The reason we had power within 6 hours was because we are on the same powergrid as the townhall which got a generator delivered. The rest had to go without power till friday evening... The news said the pilots were back in the air the next day.
