thedawnpatrol Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I have recently been told that I should not be driving my M3 on a car licence. I understand that the permitted weight limit is 7.5 tons, but my M3 is near 9 tons, Am I able to drive it as it is 'Historical' ? Any suggestions ? Cheers Jules Quote

0 david052 Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 At my pre-Remembrance Sunday dinner I got talking to a pal of mine who is an HGV instructor. He said that in addition to a H licence I would need an LGV licence, as my Sultan is 8 tonnes plus. I have had a licence since 1986 (?) and have C1+ E 107, which I think from looking at the other thread takes me up to 7500kg? CVR(T)s were produced in the early 70s? Do I take what he said as gospel? Cheers! Quote

0 ArtistsRifles Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Lee is right - a "H" license by itself has no weight limit. Only time you get issues is if the vehicle is over-width or weight - then you need to notify your local constabulary plus any others enroute if your are crossing Force boundaries. Quote
0 Tony B Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Same with D class no weight limit or seat limit just 'Over 16 seats including driver. Classes are nightmare now. Quote
