fv1609
Chav Corsa on our estate? Nope. Although it would be interesting to see if anyone gets what the vehicle is in front, it probably won't help explain the photo. So please carry on guessing the vehicle & it is British. But why are these big things there?
Tony B
So large tyres= spread ground pressure reduce weight. Where would that be required? Beach launch of a temporary jetty, vehicle would be a BARV?.

abn deuce
Yes , I agree they are fuel carriers .and judging the weight of those tire/fuel cells I say it must be a Tank . Challanger perhaps?
Richard Farrant
They would appear to originate from US military because of the rear lights, at a guess, they could be something made by Goodyear for fuel carrying and I suspect towed by a Centurion or maybe, Conqueror. fv1609
Well done, the last three of you are all barking up the right tree. It is indeed for carrying fuel, 500 gallons in each tyre a system called Rolit in trials with RASC in 1961. Can be towed in pairs or singly, airportable & can float. The were really no clues in the photo about the tow vehicle. Although big seemed to be the expectation it was none other than a Bedford RL. Or did it just happen to be parked there? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/fv1620/Bomber1.jpg[/img]

Poptopshed
Would love to pull up at a garage to fill that up! Imagine the look on the staffs faces. :-D The lottery win to be able to afford it would be nice too.

fv1609
Yes that's a good view of the towbar. I wasn't really sure what it might be like.
