Lord Burley
I fancy the Saxon, my entry for the most pug ugly MV ever built, or one of the armoured patrol vehicles, what make were they? GKN Sankey Built the Saxon. They recently failed a stability test for the Army, hence why Withams have so many.I suspect that the one in the picture with the odd turret and armoured front guard is destined shortly for a new life back in Iraq with a private security company. sirhc
49 AT 33 was the Alvis prototype Sabre. I've seen all the bins etc that were trialled when they were designing it, still with prototype lables on. I was going to have a few, untill I realised they didn't actually open! The photo shows it all shiny and brand new. This has had 'Sold' written on the front since I first spotted it at Withams 2 or 3 years ago. Shame really as I would have liked it. abn deuce
So Many Wonderful toy but so far far away. Must be like a kid in the candy store or sweets shop to you . Lots of soviet material !!! I can't believe the lub trailer was only in service for 2 yrs! Yes if one had the space it would be a handy addition. sirhc
The lube trailers were purchased in a 2 year period, they would have been released in the last month or so, making them almost 20 years old.
Nick Johns
30cwt Bedford J type were the favourite transport of the travellers, known as vauxhall cresta pick ups ! now very sort after
abn deuce
while the Lub units are 20 yrs old they have hardly been used, 78 hours running time based on the generators use is almost nothing , Lub pumps survive much long than paint pumps since they are only handling oils and grease . biggest problem might be carb on the generator being gummed or varnished if gas or stuck valves if diesel.
