Ronsandt
So if my tr@ck starts out with 78 links per side and I now have to remove one per side. How many miles usually does it take to stretch the track to take out another link. And how many links can you take out total! Just trying to judge my usage, and what to expect thanks. robin craig
I believe from memory the answers to those questions are in the manual. Track wear is dependent a lot on the type of ground you are on. Manuals are the one thing you should buy and read, they really are useful.
Ronsandt
My manuals read cut and dry. Not getting my answers out of them. Have all man. And have to keep searching between them all. Just trying to get a ballpark from people who have used them for a long time.
terryb
Hi Ron, although called track stretch, its actually the rubber bushes that are getting old and compressing. Realistically I would only remove the one link and regularly look at the track pin nuts to make sure they still appear to be in the middle of the hole in the track where the rubber bushes fit. Collapsed rubber bushes can throw the track Little tip-adjust your mirrors so you can see the top of the track. If driving in a straight line you can see the top run of track swaying in and out, you have a problem! regards Terry

AlienFTM
As I've replied on another, similar thread. When you cannot sufficiently tension a 76-link track on Scorpion/ Scimitar (/Sabre), it's time to replace the tracks.
Grasshopper
Moot point now as CVRT track (in the the MV enthusiast budget bracket) is virtually unobtainable now, all useable track having gone to Ukraine. New track is available, but may cost as much as a vehicle.
