goanna
This Lanc flew in to Adelaide domestic airport late 1962 , then it flew out again. The black exhaust trails under the wings would normally not be visible against the wartime black livery. Was the Merlin running rich ? LarryH57
Is Adelaide International the same as Parafield in Adelaide, as my Dad was stationed at Parafield with 238 Sqn RAF in 1945? Photos to follow of their Dakotas if you are interested?

Starfire
Adelaide Airport and Parafield are not the same place, but photos are still of interest https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/Parafield+Airport,+Tiger+Moth+Lane,+Parafield,+South+Australia/Adelaide+Airport+SA+5950/@-34.8575872,138.5031049,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x6ab0b6a489e9fad5:0xf03365545b8f0a0!2m2!1d138.6368063!2d-34.7884355!1m5!1m1!1s0x6ab0c53c8a1edbaf:0x5033654628ea800!2m2!1d138.5348719!2d-34.936098 Cheers, Terry
fesm_ndt
I did some volunteer work on the one that was left in Perth. It was originally at the airport entrance then moved to the Bullcreek Aviation museum late 70's. http://www.raafawa.org.au/museum/avro-lancaster#!Lancaster_14_19 A lot of errors in the website. No mention of its French Maritime service and the black and white shot I believe is at the original location at the airport as you can just see the Mosquito on the left, which as far as I recall rotted away. edit... the original post of Lancaster WU16 is the one now in the museum over here Edited September 12, 2017 by fesm_ndt
