10FM68
Yes, very well done, many congratulations. It's lovely to see a classic British military vehicle so beautifully restored. Fantastic.
Chris Suslowicz
It looks as though it has just been delivered to its first unit and had the tac signs applied. (Probably on a trailer and shrink-wrapped, it's that spotless!) When you have the aerial mounting frame made, I have the adapter plate and (probably) a used aerial base for you. :-) Chris.

guy66
Now we have the seat covers inside the cabine and a bonnet blanket. Think that I will use the blanket to cover my gear that will be fitted on the roof for are xxx corps trip. Spare wheel fitted on the spare wheel support and made 10 copy's of the side tarpaulin hooks. The new aerial tubes are fitted in the side aerial rack, the tubes still had the protective wrapping on the ends of the tubes .
super6
It's probably obvious but what is the bonnet blanket supposed to do/for?

The blanket was used in the cold winter time to cover up the bonnet so the engine was a bit isolated , but this type of blanket was also in multiple use to cover up equipment.

Was it part of the vehicles equipment? Is it a square or rectangular sheet? Thanks in advance
Chris Suslowicz
Hi Guy, ZA.29564 is "SECTION, Steel 6-ft 8-in x 2.1/8-in dia, No.1 Mk 1/1" You've got 12 of them (I suspect the vehicle rack is intended to hold 13 so you have a spare), and that's two "MAST, 36-ft STEEL, MK 2/1" worth of tubes. (I have the Complete Equipment Schedule (dated November 1959) in my hand.) :-) I have a couple of the mast "shoes", some parts of the stay assemblies, and one rather rusty mast cap (it will do as a pattern) for you. Best regards, Chris.
guy66
23 hours ago, super6 said: Was it part of the vehicles equipment? Is it a square or rectangular sheet? Thanks in advance It's good possible that the bonnet blanket came from WD together with the vehicle equipment with tings like the shovel picks, wire cutter ets . But if you look closely to the picture off the Bedford MWR you can see that there were straps on the rear lid to hold the bonnet blanket.
