fv1609
Clearing some old holiday snaps. Seen next to RNLI at Burry Port, South Wales. Is it military?
AlienFTM
The bow is all wrong, but otherwise it bears a remarkable resemblance to a DUKW to me. Maybe a related project?

GeePig
The question is - just what is it sitting on? Looks like it was made to suit. I did wonder about some kind of pontoon bridge boat. trevor
Tony B
Looks more like a work/push boat used to manouvre barges about.

Tony B
Wasn't something similar used in the construction of Bailey Bridges and such like?
Bob Grundy
Wasn't something similar used in the construction of Bailey Bridges and such like? You maybe correct. The book 'One More River to Cross' by JH Joiner, page 276 shows the Light Assault Floating Bridge being positioned at RSME Chatham by one of these boats. Tony B
Fits the bill! Tell you what I'd love a workboat like that.
