Can anyone please tell me what the small bracket is for inside the left hand toolbox lid?

also I am thinking of fitting an in line fuse - is it a good idea and what rating should the fuse be please?

 Thanks

The brackets are for a small chain or wire to regulate how far the lid opens. I'd use a 15 amp fuse. Ron

I imagine there should be a corresponding loop inside the box. I can't remember such a thing in my CO boxes, I'll check tomorrow. Ron

well it turns out that both the toolboxes on my WD/CO have that loop in the lid, but nothing corresponding inside the box itself?? I've checked the boxes on my WD/C, WD/G, WD/L and none have that loop. So I'm not sure what they're for now?  Maybe Jan has a clue? Ron

I found this picture in my archive:

Definitely home made, but Enfield may have done it in a similar way? On the other hand, in this first contract WD/CO picture from one of the weeklies I can't see it:

Ah my thoughts were that you could use a cord to one of the mounting bolts. After the first CO's they might have realised that the lids open onto the pillion foot rests and came up with that "adjustable" idea!
