ArtistsRifles
From what I gather in the media reports is seems as of the 1st April this year the 40 year exemption from the road tax becomes a rolling one again. Great news for me as next year my Landie qualifies for tax exempt status now!!

antar
About time too....considering the scheme was originally conceived as 25 rolling years.
Enigma
About time too....considering the scheme was originally conceived as 25 rolling years. Same here. Now 40 and older, fully ecxempt. Between 25-40 years its a lot of typing to explain. Still you guys are Lucky!! Our roadtaxes vary between fueltype and weight. My little 2 seater diesel Renault (950 KG) is 55 euro each month in roadtax!! (petrol is cheaper). So imagine one of those big diesel landrovers..... Now I have to replace it but I need a similar one in gasoline, they are rare so expensive to buy. A bigger (heavier one), more roadtax. Adrian Barrell
Still you guys are Lucky!! Indeed we are! Despite many peoples experiences with the DVLA, we in the UK are still quite well looked after regarding legislation for vintage vehicles. It compares well to much of the rest of the world. paulob1
it is better...but road tax is a pointless tax, it is yet another tax that costs significant amounts to recover and police and could easily be removed by adding a few pence on the cost of petrol, and removing hundreds of civil servants who manage it...still not right but this is a good news step in the right direction....we need more good news...
