Hello,

I decided to join this forum after seeing some threads about M3 Lee / Grant's for sale ...though seems I came a bit late! If anyone knows one available, please let me know ASAP!

Anyways, I'm surprisingly an 18 year old girl from eastern US. I've always have been very interested in military vehicles...starting with planes (F-16, F/A-18, F-14) and now it's moved onto armor which has stuck for years!

I'm a digital artist and published author. I specialize in the concept of alive/living machines. All my art work and books are based on this subject.

Someday I hope to own an armor museum but right now I'm just a beginning collector that still has a lot to learn. I'm probably going to be taking automotive technology for college if I go so I can learn how to actually work on the vehicles I've got. Right now my friends dad is teaching me.

In a long story short I always wanted a boat when I was little and when we had to sell some land, dad was going to buy a cabin cruiser...the boat broke down the day we were going to buy it so we didn't, lol! Using a fraction of that money I convinced my dad to buy me an M38A1 and an M29C Weasel. Both are running and operational but need some work. I'm in a local military vehicle group where I store my M38A1 and am about to move my Weasel over there soon.

So, in the future I'm really hoping to buy an M3 Lee to restore. That's what I'm really pushing for right now. I'm probably the biggest Lee fan out there (next favourite is the Panzer III Ausf F).

That's about it, any questions just ask!

-Lee

Welcome in, Lee! Interesting that many of us collectors tend to regard our vehicles as 'living' - we give them names (both male and female) and talk to them . And occasionally buy them gifts! They certainly have an attitude at times. Small surprise they sit comfortably in the concept you work with.

I bet a psychologist (sorry - shrink) would have a field day in our Clubhouse :-D

Haha, thanks everyone! Sorry for the delay, I took my room-mate from New Zealand down to Disney World before she had to go home.

Awesome, looks like I already see a few other female military fans here! I'm known as "The Tank Girl" by a few other friends of mine that actually own a tank. They were surprised that I liked tanks probably even more than they did. (Maybe! There have been debates about that one!)

As for talking to vehicles...count me on that list. I've named mine as well. I even known some people that have worked on the shuttles at KSC...they all swear that the shuttles were alive...it was great!

I've worked with the living machine concept since I was young actually, my dad still can't get the concept of it. I found most people like it though. I'm currently working on getting my novel about tanks out. It's going to take awhile to edit - it's very long.

I've posted a thread on the Weasel also and plan to put some photos of my Jeep and such up soon.

Well, expect to see me around here daily or weekly from now on.
