  1. Hello and welcome aboard! Pretty cool to see another person on here with the name Cato.
  2. Thanks! And unfortunately I'm in the USA and can't important US vehicles I'm currently trying though!) so I'll have to find one in the USA, I did see a Grant for sale in the UK a few weeks ago on there though.
  3. Hey everyone, I know I haven't been on here much but I wanted to give an update. Well I still have to put a video together from my "Tank Tour of Europe and UK 2012" but right before I went was my first parade with my M29. No work was done except some stars and "US Army" painted on. I haven't had much time to get around to any work on it, I fixed a small oil leak but yesterday I went to the place I keep my vehicles and of course there is a large oil puddle under it...
  4. I'm going to be in Manchester (UK ;D) for only a few hours. I'm just flying into there to see a few vehicles and then staying with a friend near London that night. It's going to be a loooong day. My friend that lives there wants me to stay with her for a bit sometime though. I may come back next summer and be there for two weeks ...probably during Tank Fest or something.
  5. I was just in Florida to see Atlantis and now I'm in Cali visiting a friend. I'll be home on the 11th then taking my Weasel to the Veterans day parade in Columbia the next day before leaving for Manchester on the 14th. I'll be looking at BMP-1's, Abbots, and CVR(T)'s (Sabre!!) there. I'll then be looking at another tank in France before a few days in Germany before finally going to the Czech Republic to visit two more places. I'll be coming home on the 25th I think It's going to be busy! I'll post pictures for sure. ...then a day later Norfolk for Enterprise's Inactivation. ..... I actually wrote this post for another forum a few days ago. I was in the veterans day parade today with the Weasel and ended up overheating and parallel parking next to our state house in it. ...I somehow found that amusing along with the rest of my group. The Weasel is okay though . He's currently back in his parking space at the motor-pool. -Lee
  6. I've heard people have done it, so, how do I do it? I found a US tank hull in France that I'd like to buy. - it's a US WWII tank. It's the recovery version so it has no armament and is "demilled". It has no engine or transmission. Has anyone ever dealt with importing US armor? If so, how did you do it?
  7. Thanks for all the information on the tracks and sorry for the late reply, I've been pretty busy lately! I'll be looking through those links when I have a bit more time. I've already looked at the Liberty Track website...I already want those, lol! I'm actually not sure how high of a priority getting new tracks are for me. They're rusted up, bent up and broken off in some areas. (bent down in one place that which makes an irritating CLUNK every time it hits the ground.) I'll try to remember to take pictures tomorrow of the tracks (as well as those other pics I promised!)
  8. Okay, let's see if I can reply to all the questions and such here, lol! Thanks for the info about the Liberty Tracks...question though, will they tear up the roads at all? I need tracks that can go on roads so I can take the Weasel through parades. And haha yes! I've already experienced the tracks on it now tearing up the yard and marking the road up (any everything in it's path!) Something that would be a little less destructive would be great! And yes the main safety issue is about the fuel, or the fuel line really. I don't know the correct terminology so I'll try to explain it the best I can. The fuel is in a straight circuit right now, there is no back up line for it so if something...floods? or backs up? it has no where else to go and can be a big fire hazard then. The electrical systems look pretty good, I've already had to replace the negative ground cable but that was it so far, the rest looks okay but of course...doing a good look through on the entire system. I already have several manuals on the Weasel actually, the previous owner gave me one and some other smaller manual when I got the Weasel from him. And yes! I plan to buy a fire extinguisher for both the Weasel and Jeep soon! You actually just reminded me about that...thanks! As for modern materials...personally I go for making my vehicles parade ready. I don't care much about what's on the inside as long as it's safe and does what it needs to. I want to drive the vehicles I have around and show them off rather than just making everything the way it should be and just being able to look at the vehicle like it's in a museum. Thanks for all the info and helpful links! The info on the tracks was a big help! I'll be getting some more pictures soon! If anyone knows a source for me to find the history of my Weasel that would be great! I have all the ID panels still on the Weasel.
